February 6th 2015: Dinner with a Friend at Precinct Kitchen and Bar, Boston

Today after work, I headed into Boston for dinner with a friend at Precinct Kitchen and Bar in Boston, located within the Loews Boston Hotel. The hotel used to be Back Bay Hotel, with the restaurant also being a different name, Cuffs, that I was at some time ago.

The hotel itself pretty much has the same decor,
as was the restaurant itself, which is pretty upscale itself.
The bar area was full of people fresh off work and waiting for the train to leave, and we had to pass through them to get to the restaurant area of the place. Finally seated, we got the Crispy Pork Belly (Pesto Lentil Stew, Avocado Mousse)
and the Seared Duck Breast Risotto.
Both dishes  were actually pretty good, but the portions were really small, especially for the high price we paid for them, and we even had to get a Boston Cream Pie for dessert.
Not bad, but way too simplistic in presentation in my opinion.

Overall, you decide whether it is worth paying the price for when there are similar restaurants in the area.

February 5th 2015: Mexican Dinner at Casa Vallarta, Northborough

Today after work, I decided to get some Mexican food from Casa Vallarta in Northborough. This place used to be the Celtic Tavern I have been to in the past, but I have to say the decor looks better Mexican.

I decided to get the Vallarta Molcajete (skirt steak, grilled chicken Breast, Shrimp with Chipotle sauce,  jalapeño peppers and frijoles with chorizo.  Served in sizzling molcajete with green onions and Cheese).

I have to say, I was really blown away at how tasty this dish was. The cheese sauce with beans just made everything so delectable.

Definitely a much better replacement for the Celtic Tavern.

February 4th 2015: Ethiopian Dinner at Fatima's Cafe, Worcester

After work today, I headed to Fatima's Cafe in Worcester for an Ethiopian Dinner.  I went with a cup of Kenya Chai Tea (home brewed with fresh ground spices)

And the Ethiopian Anjero Platter (Large Ethiopian flatbread served with daily special meat and vegetable stews).
The tea was perfectly sweetened, and the various stews were delicious.

The owner also gave me a delicious Beef Samosa on the house.
A pretty good hole in the wall place.

February 3rd 2015: Dinner with a Friend at Harvard Gardens, Boston

Before work, I decided to get a donut breakfast from Boston Donuts in Shrewsbury, located within a gas station on Maple Street, getting a Powder Covered Cream Filled Donut.

Not bad to fill one's hunger pangs.

After work, I went for dinner with a friend at Harvard Gardens, a somewhat upscale bar restaurant in the West End area of Boston.

We got the Truffle Mac and Cheese (Peas, Broccoli,  shitake mushrooms),

The Anson Mills Polenta Fries (jalapeño and corn, drizzled honey,  sriracha aioli),

The Maine Mussels (creamy basil sauce, Parmesan,  tomatoes,  Toasted sourdough bread)

And the Seared Scallops (Mushroom risotto, peas, baby carrots, pomegranate reduction).
The mac and cheese was very creamy with the broccoli being an interesting touch, the truffle flavor perfecting it, while the polenta was crispy and flavorful together with the sweet honey and spicy mayo with a kick. The mussels went really well with the pesto as well. Unfortunately, the risotto was a little bland.

Overall though, the food was actually pretty good and interesting. A recommend from me, especially with the crowd here on a Tuesday night.

After dinner, we headed to the Showcase Cinemas De Lux Revere to watch "Black Sea" starring Jude Law on a submarine looking for Russian gold in a submarine, ending in tragedy due to the flaws of human nature.

I initially thought it would be boring, but I feel the plot was actually pretty good. To think we actually went to see it because it was starting at the time we arrived.

Before heading to Easton to get some pizza from the Pizza Depot, getting the Ring of Fire Pizza (feta, Pineapple,  chicken,  jalapeños,  3 cheese blend)

And the Roman Bone In Wings.

The Pizza wasn't that good, and neither were the wings.

I decided to get more food from Pizza Market in Sharon, getting the Buffalo Mac and Cheese Pizza

And the Steak and Egg Sub.

Once again, Nothing special,  the Pizza tasting a little weird as well.

I had to wait a little for the Sharon Police and Fire Museum to open, but it was worth it, as it is the best collection of police and fire department stuff I have seen.
From here, I tried to visit the Little Red Shop Museum in Hopedale,

But it was closed today Unfortunately.

With that, I went to collect some pizza from Papa Gino's at 341 Cochituate Road in Framingham, then went to my friend's place for the rest Of the night To watch the Super Bowl. I'm really glad the Patriots won. Finally.
