Today, we decided to have lunch at Penang in Boston, a Malaysian restaurant in the Chinatown area which I have been to several times in the past. This time around, we got the Beef Rendang Rice,
the Baby Oyster Omelette with Egg (pan fried baby oyster with egg),
the Chendol (green pea flour stripes and sweet red beans topped with shaved ice and coconut milk),
the Kang Kung Belacan (sauteed convolus chinese watercress with spicy shrimp paste sauce) and Hainanese Chicken with Rice (chicken rice subtly flavored with steamed chicken served with chef's special soy sauce).
Of the dishes, only the egg was a letdown, being totally different from what we expected, just an omelette and nothing more. A pretty good meal otherwise.
After lunch, we also stopped by the Corner Cafe Bakery nearby at 62 Harrison Avenue
for some Walnut Cookies
and Portuguese Egg Tarts.
A nice spring day out in Chinatown with mom.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
