March 11th 2017: The Spring Bulb Show in Northampton

We started out this morning by heading to Smith College in Northampton,

where the Spring Bulb Show was going on at the Lyman Conservatory.
Really beautiful flowers, with added bonuses of seeing the other parts of the conservatory. Glad we came to see it despite the bitter cold.

After passing by some other places in town,
8 Green Street
Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library & Museum
Next, we went into the town of Easthampton to visit a totally different kind of park, one reconstructed from the bowels of an old mill, at Mill 180 Park. Really nice concept to say the least, where the kids were out to play on a freezing cold day.
At this point, we decided to eat at the Eatery in Mill 180 Park, getting the Meatball, Potato and Kale Stew
and the Hamburger Sliders (2 sliders with tomato, lettuce, kimchi garlic sauce).
Unfortunately, the orders took so long to come in, that it spoilt the mood. The food was not bad though. Wasn't it to be that good from this place somehow.

The next stop was for a bit of shopping at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke.
We were to watch "Shen Yun" at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester tonight,

so we went to get dinner at Padavano's Place, an Italian Restaurant in town that I visited when it just opened.

This time,  we got the Eggplant Fries (served with spicy Boom Boom Sauce),
the Haddock Piccata (haddock sauteed, lemon, butter, white wine, capers, spinach)
and the Apple Caramel Cheesecake for dessert.
The fries were pretty good, being soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The pasta was a little bland though, and the haddock a little on the burnt side, along with the surprise of the occasional bone. The dessert was just alright as well, mainly because of the cinnamon present. Overall, not worth visiting a third time.

As for the theater itself, a pretty nice place to have a performance.

As for the performance itself, it would have been very good, especially in the way they integrated the graphics in the background with the choreography on stage really prefectly. Unfortunately, the performances were interspersed with political commentary, which really made me feel like I was watching a religious show trying to convert me to their cause, and hence really uncomfortable. Other than that, a good end to a really cold day.
