I started today's sightseeing in the town of Glocester RI,
Heading into Foster RI for the first time,

going for a terrible hike at Borders Farm Trail from 38 North Road, which I don't even want to elaborate on,
stepping into Scituate for a bit,
then crossing over into Sterling CT,

before heading into Killingly CT,
going on a hike at
Old Furnace State Park, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
Nice views of Furnace Pond from the shore,
but even more amazing ones from the various rock outcroppings high up in the hills.
Excellent hike to say the least, and I will be back for a water body I missed out here.
I also checked out the
Museum of Killingly History, which had some interesting stuff, but unfortunately I could not take any pictures here.
Next, it was on to the town of Brooklyn CT,

Next, passing through Eastford CT,

where I checked out parts of the
Air Line State Park Trail (in black),
where there was nothing much to see
except for animals crossing my path.
and hiked the
Goodwin State Forest at the same time. The paths I took here are shown below in pink.
Nice views of swampy Pine Acres Pond
and Brown Hill Marsh,
as well as Black Spruce Pond in the Chaplin CT section of the place.
While here, I also checked out the
Edwin Way Teale Memorial Sanctuary, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
The ponds here were just alright though.
With that, I called it a day for sightseeing, heading back toward home, stopping by
We Lik It Farm in Pomfret CT for Orange Pineapple Ice Cream, where I also got to sample the Cream of Maple flavor,
then going to Grill 37, a pretty upscale steakhouse, for more food.
I got the Danish Onion Soup (made with slow caramelized onions, house made veal stock, red wine and secret seasoning, topped with toasted crouton and stilton blue cheese)
and the Peach Seared Scallops (fresh scallops seared with fresh peaches and apple wood smoked bacon. Deglazed with peach schnapps).
Risky but delicious take on french onion soup, and the scallops were excellent with the peaches and crisp bacon.
For dinner, we were in the town of Wayland at
Prime 131 Grill, an upscale steakhouse which had significantly lower prices than
Coach Grill.
For food, we got the CHICKEN SANTORINI ( SAUTÉED CHICKEN BREAST WITH MUSHROOMS, ASPARAGUS, SUN DRIED TOMATOES, WHITE WINE & CREAM, SERVED WITH LINGUINI, FRESH BASIL & FETA CHEESE)
and the Roasted Mushroom Soup (roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, chicken broth, and cream garnished with sliced scallion and truffle oil).
Excellent food, and definitely more satisfying than at Coach Grill.
