February 29th 2020: MarketStreet, Lynnfield

Today, we went to the open air shopping mall, MarketStreet Lynnfield, in Lynnfield, to check it out.
Nice place, but unfortunately it was too cold to stay out for long.

February 28th 2020: Takeout from KFC, Shrewsbury

We got takeout from the KFC in Shrewsbury today, getting their new KFC Fried Chicken and Donuts Sandwich,
the Kentucky Fried Chicken Wings with Nashville Hot Sauce,

the Nacho Fries,
and Potato Wedges.
the donut sandwich was not bad, though very sticky and a tad sweet with all that sugar syrup on top. Overall, not a bad meal for cheap.

February 27th 2020: Another Donut from Donut Cafe, Worcester

Today at work, a colleague brought doughnuts from Donut Cafe in Worcester. This time, I got the Toasted Coconut Donut by accident, and it was not a happy ending for coconut flake disliking me.

February 26th 2020: The Prime Deli, Waltham

Today, while in Waltham, I decided to grab a bite from the Prime Deli. Decent amount of space for dining in.
I got a Coleslaw
and the Scott Green (kosher salami, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, spicy mustard, pickles on dark rye),
which were just alright and nothing special.

Monday, February 24, 2020

February 24th 2020: More Pizza from Village Pizza, Shrewsbury

Today, we got takeout from Village Pizza in Shrewsbury, this time getting the Tomato Pizza.

Pretty good from this place as always.

February 23rd 2020: Worcester Public Market, Worcester

Today, we decided to check out the new Worcester Public Market in Worcester, a shopping area with a food court,

getting the Basil Rigatoni (pomodoro, basil, young pecorino) from Pasta Mani

and the Build It Yourself Burger with Beyond Burger, Tomatoes, Avocado, fried onion strings and pineapple from New England Burger Bah,

Looking fancy, but nothing special overall.

February 19th 2020: Yet Another Company Lunch at Via Italian Table, Worcester

Today, we had a company lunch for a colleague who is leaving the department at Via Italian Table in Worcester. This time, we got the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for appetizers,
and I got the Chicken Orzo Soup
and the Grilled Prime Bistro Steak (red wine braised Tuscan potatoes, garlicky spinach and pepperonata).
The soup was just so-so, and the flavor of the steak was not really to my liking either, because of the peppers.

Monday, February 17, 2020

February 17th 2020: Breakfast at Denny's, Worcester

Today, we decided to have breakfast at Denny's in Worcester, getting the Loaded Veggie Omelette (Fresh spinach, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed zucchini & squash, tomatoes and Swiss cheese. Served with hash browns and choice of bread).
Not bad, but nothing extraordinary.

February 15th 2020: Eating Out in Leominster

Today while at the Mall at Whitney Field in Leominster, we decided to have lunch at the food court here, getting a pizza from Primo Pizzeria,
and Orange Chicken and Lo Mein from Golden Wok.

Nothing special from either place. For dinner, we decided to give the little one a treat after his fall and ER visit to the Leominster campus of the UMass Memorial Hospital at the McDonald's at 340 New Lancaster Road in town,

getting the Small Fries, the Chicken McNuggets, the McChicken and the Chicken McGriddle.
Nothing special, but at least my little one enjoyed his meal.

February 14th 2020: 435 Bar and Grille, Leominster

Today for dinner, we decided to check out the 435 Bar and Grille in Leominster, a pretty nice restaurant located within an old mill.
We got the Margherita Pappardelle (sauteed chicken, grape tomatoes, baby spinach, fresh basil & oregano in a light garlic butter sauce topped with fresh mozzarella),
the Baked Stuffed Haddock (crab stuffed filet of haddock finished in a lemon butter sauce served with mashed potatoes & asparagus)
and the Shepherds Pie Stuffed Acorn Squash (roasted acorn squash stuffed with ground beef, onions, celery, carrots & peas topped with parmesan mashed potatoes).
The shepherd's pie was an interesting concept, bu overall, all the dishes were just so-so. Don't think I want to come back again, At least they had complimentary chocolate covered strawberries at the end though.

February 12th 2020: Woosta Pizza, Worcester

Today for lunch, it was more pizza takeout from Woosta Pizza in Worcester, which is a surprisingly roomy restaurant instead of a hole in the wall takeout place.
I got the Philly Steak & Cheese (Shaved Porterhouse steak, cheddar cheese, American cheese, salt and black pepper. White pizza),
which was sadly really bland. Definitely not coming back again.

Monday, February 10, 2020

February 10th 2020: Fastway Pizza, Worcester

Today for lunch, I decided to get pizza takeout from Fastway Pizza in Worcester, getting a Hawaiian Pizza (Pizza Sauce, Cheese, Ham, Pineapple and Regular Crust).
A little rubbery on the cheese, and nothing special.

February 9th 2020: The Fireplace Room, Bolton

Today in Brockton,
Brockton Tabernacle Church
after checking out the small Westgate Mall in town,
we decided to head to The Fireplace Room in Bolton, an upscale restaurant located within The International Golf Club & Resort.
The restaurant itself is really nice, with its own real fireplace.
for food, we got the SHORT RIB BENEDICT (local vegetable hash, poached egg, short rib demi glaze)
and the BUCATINI & MEATBALLS (bucatini pasta, meatballs, 6 hr red sauce, garlic crostini).
The short rib was not bad, having beef gravy instead of the usual hollandaise sauce, although the meat was tougher than I would have liked it. The pasta was just so-so, but both dishes were way too expensive to be worth coming back again. Nice ambiance though.

February 8th 2020: Stephen Anthony's Restaurant, Marlborough

For dinner tonight, we decided to check out Stephen Anthony's Restaurant, a pretty nice place on the edge of Marlborough.
For food, we got the Pan Seared Crab Cakes (Fresh Maine Crab Cakes served with roasted corn relish),
the Papa's Pesto (fresh zucchini and grape tomatoes sauteed with shallots then tossed with farfalle pasta, basil pesto and fresh mozzarella cheese)
and the Strawberry Shortcake (warm buttermilk biscuit with strawberries and sauce, whipped cream and fresh strawberry).
The crabcakes were really tasty, as was the pasta, although the dessert was just alright. Not bad a restaurant. Good we finally got to try it.

Friday, February 7, 2020

February 7th 2020: Donut from Donut Express, Worcester

Got a Plain Donut from Donut Express at 221 Webster Street in Worcester today. Nothing special really.

Monday, February 3, 2020

February 3rd 2020: Company Lunch from Red Pepper, Worcester

Today, we had a company lunch catered by Red Pepper in Worcester, consisting of Scallion Pancakes, Steamed Dumplings, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoons,
Vegetable Lo Mein and House Lo Mein.
Americanized Chinese food is definitely not what they do well at here.
