September 25th 2022: Legal Sea Foods at Copley Place, Boston

 While taking our relatives on a tour of Boston today, 

Shopper's Plaza

we decide to have lunch at the Legal Sea Foods located in Copley Place.

To let our relatives try local specialties, we got the New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque (cream sherry),

the New England Clams (whole-bellied, sweet & petite),

the Oysters of the Day

and the Half Pound Maine Lobster Roll (warm butter-poached or traditional with lemon mayo, french fries & coleslaw).

Our only complaint was that the clams were really small in portion, but otherwise everything else was excellent. Pity the weather did not permit much more sightseeing.

September 24th 2022: Eating on a Wedding Day

 This morning, while in Middleton, we decided to have a quick breakfast at Darya's Cafe, a pretty nice cafe in town.

We got the Shaved Steak Benedict (2 poached eggs, shaved steak, cheese served on an English muffin topped with Hollandaise sauce),

which although the home fries were soggy and not my cup of tea, the shaved steak was actually pretty good. Would recommend this place.

For dinner, we had a wedding at Ming's Seafood in Quincy. The dishes included Cold Platter,

the Lobster Salad,

the Geoduck Sashimi and Salmon,

the Abalone with Vegetables,

the Scallop Soup,

the Golden Fried Chicken,

the Prime Rib with Asparagus,

the Yellow Chive Sea Conch,

the Fish Longevity Noodles, Fresh Steam Fish and Red Bean Tapioca Soup.

Really good food at a wedding for once, especially the lobster salad and chicken.

September 23rd 2022: Company Lunch from Thai Place, Shrewsbury

 Today, we had a company lunch at work, ordered from Thai Place in Shrewsbury, where I got the RAD NAH (Soft rice noodles and Chinese broccoli pan fried with pork or chicken and gravy).

Not too bad, but not the best I have had from there.

September 21st 2022: Cut 21, Revere

Today, after some time playing soccer with the little one at the Glavin Soccer Fields at 229 Lake Street in Shrewsbury, 

we decided to get dinner at Cut 21, a posh steakhouse in Revere. We got the Kids' Chicken Tenders with French Fries

and the Grilled Swordfish (cauliflower steak, spinach, tzatziki).

The chicken was actually not bad, being crispy, as were the fries. The swordfish was a little dry though, although the cauliflower had some flavor to it together with the spinach. Should have ordered the steak I guess.

September 17th 2022: Ilona, Boston

Today, we decided to have dinner at Ilona, a pretty nice Mediterranean restaurant in the South End area of Boston.

We got the Pinot Nero (Cembra, Italy), 

the Wellfleet (Wellfleet, MA),

the Malabar (Barnstable, MA),

the Manakish (soft flatbread topped with zaat’ar, evoo wheat bran coating),

the Crispy Eggplant (tempura style, pomegranate yogurt, cheese),

the Shish Barak (fresh pasta dough stuffed with onions, lamb, pine nuts, yogurt sauce),

the Bamieh Bi Zeit (braised okra, onion, tomato, garlic, parsley),

the Hummus Shawarma (roasted lamb, onions, lemon juice, spices),

the Goulash (spinach ricotta gnocchi, short rib, pepper, carrot, onion, veal broth),

the Mussels Buzara (PEI mussels, garlic, habanero, tomato white wine sauce),

the Beef Shish Kebab (smoky harissa marinade, spicy schug sauce),

the Musakhan (roasted half chicken, sumac, onions, pine nuts),

and the Ekmek.

I have to say the food here is really good, especially the crisp eggplant, the lamb "raviolis" with its delectable yogurt sauce, the hummus mixed with roast lamb, the soft gnocchi, the chilli crab like flavor of the mussels, the smoky flavor of the kebab, and the cream choux dessert. Glad we decided to come here after Juniper in Wellesley was unavailable for reservations.

September 14th 2022: Company Outing at Bowlero, Shrewsbury

 Today, I had a company outing at the Bowlero in Shrewsbury.

We had food, including 16” PEPPERONI PIZZA, 16” CHEESE PIZZA, BAVARIAN PRETZEL DIPPERS (Soft, salted pretzel sticks paired with warm queso for dipping.), SPINACH and artichoke DIP (The perfect mix of spinach and artichoke, served with pita chips and tortilla chips for dipping), Coconut Shrimp (Delicious, deep-fried coconut shrimp served with sesame ginger sauce),  Dessert Sampler (Brownies and cookies served with strawberries.), PIGS IN A BLANKET (Mini hot dogs rolled in pastry dough and cooked golden brown. Served with mustard on the side.), VEGGIE SPRING ROLLS (Rolled to perfection and served with a side of sesame ginger sauce.), LOVE ME TENDERS (Hand-breaded chicken tenders served with a choice of BBQ, honey mustard, or sweet chili sauce.) and Seasonal Fruit Tray.

Pretty good junk food I must say, And my bowling skills still haven't deteriorated from being bad.

September 11th 2022: The Fix Burger Bar, Marlborough

 Today for lunch, we decided to check out The Fix Burger Bar in Marlborough, the Worcester location of which I visited a few times a while back. 

This time around, we got the Boss Wings (Fix bbq dry rub, ranch dressing)

The Spartan (lamb patty, herb goat cheese, arugula, red onion, tomato, sundried tomato-artichoke spread, brioche roll),

and the Pistachio Cheesecake (orange honey, crème chantilly, candied pistachio).

The wings looked burnt, but actually tasted pretty good, while the burger had the strong smell of goat cheese, which wasn't really to our liking. The cake was not bad at first, but got really sweet towards the end. Overall, not too bad a meal though, probably just got the wrong dishes.

September 8th 2022: The Coop, Westborough

 Today, we decided to have dinner at The Coop, a BBQ place in Westborough, the Millbury location of which I have been to in the past. 

This time around, we got the BBLT (Sourdough, BBQ Mayo, Tomato and Lettuce), 

the 8 Wings (Carrot and Blue Cheese. (Coop House Spice Rub)),

the Baked Beans

and Side Mac and Cheese.

Really good sandwich, the bread toasted and crisp, the brisket juicy and flavorful, as were the wings with its seasoning. Excellent meal overall. Glad we decided to come here today.

September 5th 2022: Joyful Garden, Watertown

 Today, we decided to try out Joyful Garden, a new dimsum place located in the Watertown Mall in Watertown. 

We got there just as it opened, before it filled up with people. Pretty nice inside.

We got the Pork & Shrimp Dumplings, Braised Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce, Shrimp Rice Flour Roll, Deep-fried Bean Curd Skin Roll, Juicy Pork Dumplings,

the Baked Egg Custard Tart,

the Silky Sweet Tofu Pudding and Pan-fried Turnip Cake.

Overall, pretty good food here in my opinion. No wonder the crowds.
