February 22nd 2026: Dimsum in Quincy, Cake in Braintree

Today, we started out with some Dimsum at Ming's Seafood in Quincy,

this time getting the Steamed Rice Rolls with Shrimp,

the Steamed Salty Egg Yolk Lava Buns,
the Crispy Pear Sticky Rice Dumplings,
the Singapore Rice Noodles (curry), Steamed Surf Clams with Minced Garlic and Vermicelli

and the Bean Curd Pudding with Boba.

The rice dumplings were interesting and tasty, while the noodles were a tad spicy, but the clams were not bad in taste. Otherwise, pretty gimmicky overall, and I have to say the standard seems to have gone down over the years.

Dessert was a Lemon Raspberry Cake (Gold cake with lemon and raspberry mousse filling) from Konditor Meister in Braintree.

At least we got something decent out of a long drive out.

May 18th 2025: Chicken in Quincy, Baklava in Worcester

Today, after checking out bb.q Chicken in Quincy, getting the Hot Spicy (A gochujang sauce gives these serious heat, and serious flavor.), which was pretty spicy,

we decided to get some dessert back in Worcester,

Biotech Park Lake,
381 Plantation Street

checking out Golden Semiramis Bakery, a new Mediterranean bakery in town.

We got the Cookies, Tulumba, Pistachio baklava, Blouryeh.
Pretty good I must say for baklava, not being too sweet.

April 22nd 2023: Eating Out in the Quincy Area

With my friend in town today, we brought him to the Quincy area for food after collecting a Raspberry Chambord Mousse cake

from Konditor Meister in Brantree, heading first to Hundred Miles Chinese Restaurant at 217 Quincy Avenue in Quincy for dinner, where we got the Hot Chili Pepper Chicken,

the Stir-Fried Taiwan Style Rice Noodles

and the House Special Fish in Boiling Spicy Broth.

We also got complimentary dessert at the end of the meal.

The chicken and noodles were really good, although the bones in the fish just killed the delicious flavor of the broth, and the dessert was just not fresh at all. Oh well. To make up for it, we went to Yocha nearby next, getting the Happy Trio (Red Bean + Sesame Soup, Herbal Jelly, 3 pc Mochi (Peanut, Sesame + Red Bean).

Good as always from this place, been a while since we last came.

September 24th 2022: Eating on a Wedding Day

This morning, while in Middleton, we decided to have a quick breakfast at Darya's Cafe, a pretty nice cafe in town.

We got the Shaved Steak Benedict (2 poached eggs, shaved steak, cheese served on an English muffin topped with Hollandaise sauce),

which although the home fries were soggy and not my cup of tea, the shaved steak was actually pretty good. Would recommend this place.

For dinner, we had a wedding at Ming's Seafood in Quincy. The dishes included Cold Platter,

the Lobster Salad,
the Geoduck Sashimi and Salmon,
the Abalone with Vegetables,
the Scallop Soup,

the Golden Fried Chicken,

the Prime Rib with Asparagus,
the Yellow Chive Sea Conch,
the Fish Longevity Noodles, Fresh Steam Fish and Red Bean Tapioca Soup.
Really good food at a wedding for once, especially the lobster salad and chicken.

August 13th 2022: Second Time at Hundred Miles, Quincy

After checking out the new H-Mart in Quincy, we decided to have lunch at Hundred Miles Chinese Restaurant, which we have been to in the past, this time getting the Pan-Fried Scallion Pancake,

the Hot Chili Pepper Chicken,

the Dan Dan Noodles with Hot Peanuts Sauce,

and the Xiao Long Bao (Mini Juicy Pork Dumplings).
Really good stuff as always, especially the well-marinated chicken and the peanut sauce for the noodles. H-Mart itself was big, but nothing special. Guess we will come back when the food court opens.

April 10th 2022: Space Zero, Braintree

Today, we decided to go check out the new trampoline park for kids, Space Zero, located within the Southshore Mall in Braintree. Before that, we had lunch at Hundred Miles Chinese Restaurant in Quincy, a pretty nice restaurant with interesting design at 217 Quincy Avenue taking over from JazzMoon, a karaoke place I visited a while back.

We got the Hot and Sour Soup,

the Spicy Beef Shank with Noodles Soup,
the Poached Fish Fillet in Chili Sauce,
the Beef Shank and Tripe in Mala Chili Sauce,
and the Spicy Wontons in Hot Chili Oil.
Excellent flavor for all the dishes, not too numbing, sweet or salty, just the right combination of taste. One of the best Szechuan places I have been to to date.

From here, it was on to Space Zero. I must admit, this is the first trampoline park I have seen that is more oriented towards kids,

although a little dangerous as the kids did not care to look if there were other kids in the ball pits before jumping in. We had to buy socks to wear just to get into the area, which I had to do to look after my little one.  At least my little one had lots of fun there.

February 7th 2021: Dimsum on a Snowy Day at Ming's Seafood, Quincy

Today, we managed to head to Quincy before it started snowing, and decided to have dimsum at Ming's Seafood. In the Covid climate, there are no more pushcarts going around the restaurant, so we got to order off the menu, and hence we had an opportunity to order more exotic things from the menu. We got the Pan Fried Turnip Cake with XO Sauce,

the Bean Curd Pudding,

the Baked Egg Tarts,
the Deep Fried Sweet Durian Pastry,
the Pan Fried Pork Buns,

the Salted Egg Yolk Lava Bun with Cuttlefish Sauce,
the Honeycomb Ox Tripe in Satay Sauce, Siu Mai (Pork and Shrimp Dumplings), Shrimp Dumplings with Truffle Cuttlefish Sauce,
and the Shrimp with Red Rice Roll.
Excellent meal as always from this place, although there wasn't much durian to speak of in the pastry, and the squid ink did not add much to the original versions of the dishes they were put in. Wouldn't recommend getting them again.
