June 30th 2017: Dessert and Sandwiches in Boston Before Driving to Vermont

We got some dessert from Coco Leaf in Boston today, getting the Passion Terrine
and the Bo Dam (smashed avocado with boba and fruit jelly),
both of which were nicely presented and delicious as well.

We also got some banh mi from Banh Mi Ba Le close by, getting several Banh Mi Thit Nguoi (special combination) and Banh Mi Thit Nuong for our trip to Vermont.
Definitely got a thing for the pate in the banh mi.

With that we headed for Vermont, passing by Colchester VT
United Church of Colchester
on the way to our friend's place in Essex VT,
Holy Family Catholic Church
4 Pearl Street
First Congregational Church
staying there for the night. Looking forward to our trip to Ottawa tomorrow.

June 29th 2017: Dinner at Art's Food and Spirits, Worcester

Today after work, I headed to Art's Food and Spirits, a dive bar in Northern Worcester for dinner, getting the Grilled Reuben Sandwich. Unfortunately, the place was way too dark for me to take a good picture.

The food was just alright anyway.

June 28th 2017: Lunch at Noodle Market, Arlington

Being in the area today,
Arlington Community Media

we decided to get Lunch at Noodle Market, a new Asian restaurant in Arlington that serves mainly Thai food, although there are many other cuisines on the menu as well.

We got the Kho To Tilapia (Vietnamese Caramelized fish Cooked in Casserole Sprinkled with black pepper and fried shallots served with Steamed mixed vegetables),

And the Curry Noodles (Kao Soi, Steamed lo Mein noodles in Thai famous northern style curry sauce topped with bean sprouts,  Fried shallots, Scallions,  hot Chili oil and Crispy noodles),

Which came with a Crispy Roll (Cha Gio,  Mix of ground Pork,  mushrooms, carrot, onion, wrapped in Rice paper, Fried and served with vinegar Fish sauce) , Soup and salad.

The food was not bad actually,  although a little lacking in terms of authenticity. I would give them a recommend though because of the variety of food on the menu.

June 27th 2017: Checking Out New Restaurants in West Boylston

I happened to be in the town of West Boylston today, and saw a sign for Miku Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar, so I decided to go check it out.
I got the Alaska Roll and Salmon Skin Roll (crispy salmon skin, seaweed salad, cucumber, spicy mayo and eel sauce),
which came with miso soup and a side salad.
The rolls were not bad, but nothing special really.

On the way back, I saw another sign for Fretzels, a froyo place nearby.
Not bad ending for a so-so meal.

June 26th 2017: Dinner at Leo's Ristorante, Worcester

Dinner tonight was at Leo's Ristorante, a nice looking Italian restaurant in Worcester which I visited once a long time ago.
This time, we got the Shrimp Antipasto (Shrimp sauteed with garlic, cherry peppers, lemon, tomatoes, artichokes and wine, served over spinach),
the Mellanzana alla Fusco (Roasted eggplant, sausage, roasted red peppers over imported Italian pasta with fresh goat cheese)
and the Chocolate Souffle (chocolate cake with a rich molted chocolate center) for dessert.
The appetizer was pretty delicious, not being to sour or salty, but the pasta tasted a little weird with the goat cheese, while the dessert was just so-so. Once again, a bit of a hit and miss with this place. Really like the ambience though.

June 25th 2017: Lunch at Friendly's, Dinner at Ken Chin's Worcester

Today, I got takeout lunch from the Friendly's in Worcester,
getting the New England Fish 'N' Chips (Premium, wild caught fish fillets fried in a golden brown, tavern batter, served with golden fries, coleslaw, a lemon wedge and tartar sauce.)
and the Cowboy BBQ Burger (Cheddar cheese burger with applewood-smoked bacon, hickory smoked BBQ sauce and a thick-cut crispy onion ring on a Brioche bun. Served with golden fries).
Decent meal to say the least, but nothing really outstanding, with the fish not being super fresh, but still alright.

For dinner, we decided to get Chinese takeout from Ken Chin's Restaurant in Worcester, getting the Kung Po Beef,
which not only tasted disgusting, but had just a few small pieces of beef in a whole puddle of sauce. Definitely not coming back again.

June 24th 2017: Meals in Worcester

We started out this morning with breakfast at Denny's in Worcester, getting the Country Fried Steak and Eggs (golden fried chopped beef steak smothered in rich country gravy. Served with 2 eggs, hash browns and bread).
Pretty tasty, although a little on the unhealthy side.

For lunch, I checked out Espress Yourself Coffee, a small cafe in town,
 getting a Hot Chocolate,
which was not bad I guess, though nothing special here.

Our actual meal was a Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork Sandwich) from Anh Thu, a Vietnamese place in town,
which was definitely one of the better ones I have had to date, the meat being seasoned perfectly.

June 23rd 2017: Korean Food at Gold Star CupBop, Worcester

Today, we decided to get some lunch at Gold Star CupBop, a new Korean restaurant located within the Tutti Frutti froyo place in Worcester.

We got the Milk Tea with Boba,
the Japchae Noodle CupBop with Sriracha Mayo Sauce,
and the Beef Bulgogi CupBop with Gochujang sauce.
The drink was pretty good, as was the beef. The Japchae was really bland though. Overall though, Choose and Mix is much better and more value for money than this place.

June 22nd 2017: Breakfast in Clinton, Lunch in Worcester

I started out today in the town of Clinton, getting a Pistachio Muffin

from Pam's Place, which is more like a grocery store than a bakery per se.

The almond taste definitely put me off from eating more than a few bites.

Not satisfied at all, I headed nearby to Sunshine Cafe, a new breakfast place in town.
where I got the interesting thing on the menu, the Captain Crunch French Toast (Texas toast dipped in custard batter and coated with crushed Captain Crunch).
Pretty good actually. Never thought cereal could go so well with French toast.

For lunch, I got some Jamaican food from Home Style Cuisine, a small dingy place in a sketchy part of Worcester, getting the Jerked Chicken.
Large portions, but a little on the salty side, and I am definitely not coming back to this sketchy place.

June 21st 2017: Cupcakes from Shrewsbury and Millbury

I went out to get cupcakes today, stopping first at Gerardo's Italian Bakery in Shrewsbury for a Pina Colada cupcake,
and then the Queen's Cups, a hole in the wall place in Millbury, getting a Raspberry Sugar Cookie Cupcake.
The Millbury cupcake was definitely better than the Shrewsbury one, the cake being more moist, and the cream tasting more flavorful and not just plain sugary sweetness.

June 19th 2017: Lunch at Lucian's II, Worcester

Today, I decided to check out Lucian's II, a deli shop located within the Mercantile Center in downtown Worcester, getting the Falafel Hot Wrap.
Nothing special. really.

June 18th 2017: Getting Sick After Eating at Flying Rhino Cafe, Worcester

We started out this morning with some dessert from Tous Les Jours in Burlington, getting the Apple Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, Pain Aux Raisin and Baby Choux.
Really good as always, especially the cream puffs which were just bursting with custard with every bite.

From here, we headed to Tougas Farm in Northborough to pick some strawberries.
Sadly, the strawberries we got weren't that sweet.

For dinner, we decided to go to Flying Rhino Cafe and Watering Hole in Worcester, which I went to a long time ago but did not have a good experience there because of the long wait times. This time, we got the Kung Pao Calamari (golden fried squid tossed in a sweet and spicy sesame apricot glaze)
and the Steak Frites (Char grilled 8oz bistro filet, served sliced with a veal demi glace, parmesan truffle fries and a buttermilk ranch dressed arugula salad),
which came with a watermelon demi salad and warm cornbread.
Unfortunately, the watermelon, fries and calamari all tasted as though they had been sitting out all day, and we felt sick immediately after eating them. Guess this place's bad reputation stays with me, although it still seems to be a pretty popular place.

June 17th 2017: Water Fun at Six Flags, Agawam

We had a company party today at Six Flags in Agawam, and on the way there, we passed by the town of Stafford CT.
Town Hall, 1 Main Street
Stafford Savings Bank, 2 Furnace Avenue
Stafford Springs Congregational Church
Holt Memorial Fountain
Grace Episcopal Church
Stafford Historical Society Museum
Second Congregational Church
At Six Flags,

while waiting for Hurricane Harbor to open, we went on a few small rides like The Great Chase,
the Taz™ Prop Delivery Company,
and Blizzard River.
With Hurricane Harbor open,

we took rides like the Hurricane Falls,
the Geronimo Falls and Zooma Falls,
Adventure River,
and Swiss Family Toboggan,
We then went to have our lunch at the Rivers Edge Picnic Grove
before leaving for the day.

Dinner tonight was with family at Moldova Restaurant, a new restaurant in Newton serving a new sort of cuisine, Moldovan food, which is somewhat Mediterranean, so I will classify as such.

We got the Compot (Home Made Fruit Punch),
the Icra De Vînătă (Roasted eggplant mix),
the Plăcintă Cu Varză (Traditional pie with cabbage),
the Clătite Cu Găină Și Ciuperci (Chicken and mushrooms crepes),
thFriptură De Miel (Roasted lamb, stewed in special wine and rosemary sauce , served with roasted vegetables)
and the Zeamă (Heart warming chicken soup with home made noodles).
The soup was just alright, although everything else was pretty tasty, especially the crepes, the flavor of which were out of this world.

The CuÈ™ma Lui Guguță (Sour cherries crepes)
had some interesting flavors as well.

Overall, no wonder this is one of the Boston area top new restaurants. Glad we came here for Father's Day.
