October 29th 2023: Second Time at ProteinHouse, Marlborough

 Today, we decided to grab lunch from ProteinHouse in Marlborough, which we visited once in the past.

This time, we got the GREEN MONSTER (Spinach, Kale, Cucumber, Pineapple, Honeydew, Ginger, Lime, Coconut Water.),
the ALOHA (100% Grass-Fed and Grass-Finished 8 oz Beef Patty*, Pineapple, Lettuce, Red Onions, Housemade Teriyaki Sauce)
and the THAI MONSTER (Grilled Chicken (ABF), Certified Angus Beef® Steak*, Asparagus, Broccoli, Green Onions, Peanuts, Housemade Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce).
The salad bowl was just so-so, but thankfully the drink and the burger were pretty decent.

October 28th 2023: Brunch and Dessert in Needham, Doughnuts in Natick

 Today, we started out with brunch at Fresco, a diner in Needham,

getting the Single Pancakes

and the Steak and Eggs (6oz sirloin steak).

Nothing special about the pancake, and the steak was dry. Not coming back again.

Not satisfied with our meal, we headed across the street to French Press Bakery and Cafe, which we were at two weeks ago, this time getting the Raspberry Pistachio Tart (pistachio frangipane, raspberry ganache, raspberries, sable tart, creme chantilly, toasted pistachio),
the Pistachio Macaron




and the Coconut Kouign Amann.
Really good pastry from this place, I must say.

Later on, while at the Natick Mall,
we decided to check out Mochi Dough, a new donut place inside,

we got the Fruity Pebble, Taro and S'mores flavors.

not too bad, though a tad sweet.
Overall, nice day for trying new places in Needham and Natick.

October 24th 2023: Second Time at Lalajava, Northborough in 7 Years

 Today, we decided to stop by Lalajava, a cafe in Northborough, for a quick bite, 


getting the Orange Poppy Bread,

which was alright by me. Place still looks the same after all this time.

October 22nd 2023: Brunch at Deadhorse Hill, Worcester

Today, while in Worcester,

290 Main Street


we decided to have brunch at Deadhorse Hill, which we visited once in the past.


It looked unfamiliar to us. Must be the new horses they put in. We got the Latte,


the Shrimp + Grits (poached eggs, cherry peppers, cilantro, onion),


and the Duck Fat Taters (confit home fries).

the home fries were just so-so, although the grits were pretty good, despite the spicy cherry peppers.

October 21st 2023: Crazy Tacos Bar and Grill, Norwood

 Today, while in Norwood, we decided to check out Crazy Tacos Bar and Grill, a takeout Mexican restaurant in town.


We got the Yucca Fries,

the Traditional Taco Combo (3 traditional tacos with rice and beans. Topped with onions and cilantro and salsa verde),

and the Chimichanga (crispy fried burrito stuffed with jack cheese, rice and beans, topped with fresh lettuce, homemade guacamole and mild pico de gallo and sour cream).
It was weird to see a barely fried chimichanga, but the food was not bad for a hole in the wall place.

October 19th 2023: Quick Bite at Crown Fried Chicken, Worcester

 Today, we got a quick bite at the Crown Fried Chicken location at 443 Lincoln Street in Worcester, which I apparently visited a long time ago. Hole in the wall place really.


We got the 2 Pcs Chicken and Fries,

which was pretty good when hot.

October 15th 2023: Lunch in Marlborough, Dinner in Westborough

For lunch today, we grabbed a quick bite from Lalo's Mexican Kitchen in Marlborough,


getting the Quesadilla.

Not too bad for cheap.

For dinner, it was back to Bertucci's in Westborough for more deals, this time getting the Macaroni & Cheese (Elbow macaroni loaded with creamy cheese),

the Tuscan Chicken Wings (Spicy wings marinated in lemon & rosemary)

and the Lasagna Rustica (Handmade layers of pasta, house-made meat sauce, ricotta & mozzarella).
I must say, the meals at this place have been pretty good recently.

October 14th 2023: French Press Bakery and Cafe, Needham

Today, we decided to have lunch at French Press Bakery and Cafe in Needham, a pretty popular place in town.





We got the Cappuccino (espresso with steam milk and lots of foam),



the EGGS BENEDICT (duck and crispy onion),





the Tartine (Socca and Eggplant, herbed chickpea flatbread, tomatillo relish, grilled eggplant, roma tomato, crispy harissa chickpeas, fresh basil)




and the Chocolate Chip Cookie.




Pretty flavorful. Can see why this place is so popular.

October 13th 2023: Dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, Shrewsbury

 Today, we decided to get dinner from the Buffalo Wild Wings location in Shrewsbury,

this time getting the Bourbon Pineapple Punch (Bulleit Bourbon, Captain Morgan, Pineapple rum, lime sour, pineapple juice, fresh lime, filthy cherry)
and Brisket Tacos (smoked pulled brisket, sweet BBQ sauce, grilled onions, house-made guacamole, housemade pico de gallo, cotija cheese, flour tortillas).
Pretty good tacos, although the drink was just so-so.

October 12th 2023: Quick Bite at Five Guys in Worcester

 Today, we decided to get a quick bite from the Five Guys location in Worcester,


getting the Fries FIVE GUYS STYLE (Freshly made boardwalk-style fries, cooked in pure, cholesterol-free, 100% peanut oil. Cut fresh and cooked twice – firm on the outside and mashed potato on the inside.)

the Milkshake (STRAWBERRIES, Fresh strawberries in homemade simple syrup.)
and the Hot Dog (All-beef hot dog, split and grilled lengthwise for a caramelized exterior with any of your favorite toppings.), which we did with all the toppings. 
Not bad, and definitely better than Mooyah.

October 11th 2023: Amici's Fall Festival at Amici's Trattoria, Shrewsbury

Today, we decided to have dinner at Amici's Trattoria in Shrewsbury,

getting the Goat Cheese Pear Salad (mixed greens, with pecans, fresh caramelized pears, marinated tomato, and fresh goat cheese. Served with balsamic vinaigrette dressing)


the Amici's Club Steak (grilled 10-ounce sirloin strip, topped with sun-dried tomato-shallot-Porto wine reduction. Served with mashed potatoes),

the Fettucine Carbonara (Diced prosciutto, peas, garlic, and cracked black pepper in a rich pecorino cream sauce.)
and the Homemade Pumpkin Bread Pudding.
Pretty good, especially the steak, although the pasta was a little on the salty side.
