December 24th 2020: Takeout from Burger King

 Today, we decided to get takeout from the Burger King in Shrewsbury, getting the Chicken Fries (Made with white meat chicken, Chicken Fries are coated in a light crispy breading seasoned with savory spices and herbs. Chicken Fries are shaped like fries.)

the Onion Rings (Served hot and crispy),

the Jalapeno Cheddar Bites (filled with gooey cheddar cheese and spicy jalapeño pieces, covered in a light, crispy coating. Served hot and melty)

the Big Fish Sandwich (100% White Alaskan Pollock, breaded with crispy panko breading and topped with sweet tartar sauce, tangy pickles, all on top of a toasted brioche-style bun.),

the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Made with juicy, tender and crispy 100% white meat chicken, seasoned and breaded with bold flavors and just the right amount of heat; topped with fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy mayonnaise all on a potato bun.),

the Spicy Nuggets (Made with white meat, tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Coated in a homestyle spicy seasoned breading),

and the Whopper Jr. (one savory flame-grilled beef patty topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions on a soft sesame seed bun.)

Good for cheap.

December 20th 2020: Takeout from Paradise Biryani Pointe, Westborough

 Today we decided to get takeout from Paradise Biryani Pointe in Westborough, which I visited a long time ago. This time, we got the Avakaya Goat Biryani,

the Butter Chicken (Chicken cooked in butter with bay leaves, yogurt, red onions, and lime.)

 the Andhra Fish Curry

and the Butter Naan and Garlic Naan.

The rice and fish curry were really too spicy, though not bad, and the butter chicken was excellent as well. Good to have Indian after a long hiatus.

December 19th 2020: Takeout from Kisoro Teriyaki and Sushi Express, Worcester

 Today, we decided to get takeout from Kisoro Teriyaki and Sushi Express in Worcester,

which I visited a long time ago. This time, we got the Popcorn Chicken,

the Takoyaki,

the Chicken Teriyaki Meal (comes with noodles and mixed vegetables),

the Black Dragon Roll (avocado, crab meat, eel),

and the BBQ Eel Bento Box (comes with white rice, California Roll (crabmeat, avocado) and seaweed salad),

Everything was actually pretty good, except for the chicken teriyaki, which was just so-so.

December 12th 2020: Chalawan Asian Eatery, Cambridge

 Today, we decided to try out Chalawan Asian Eatery, a Thai Indonesian Singaporean restaurant with a pretty upscale feel in Cambridge.

We got the Chicken betel leaf (with smoked nahm prig jeaw shallot lemongrass lime leaf chili and fried shallot),

the Crispy pork belly (plum & tamarillo sauce cilantro fried shallot cucumber ribbon and nam pla prig),

the Mee Goreng Mamak (seafood with egg noodle yellow curry lemongrass curry leaf chilli pepper tumeric shallot and ginger)

and the Asian Banana Cake (with cinnamon palm sugar caramel and coconut ice cream) for dessert.

I have to say, the 2 appetizers were simply flavorful and excellent, especially the pork belly, which was crispy, and yet the fat was just oozing flavor. The noodles were just alright, though still good, and the dessert was interesting, with a layer of sliced banana on top. Definitely glad we came to try this place out.

December 10th 2020: Magic of Lights, Foxborough

 Tonight, we had tickets to go see Christmas lights at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

Christmas Tree Shops

We decided to get dinner first at Citizen Crust, a pretty new restaurant in the area specializing in pizza.

For food, we got the Kids Noodle Bowl with Chicken (comes with veggies, Swedish fish and rice!) for our little one,

the Bangkok BBQ (Caramelized onion, sliced pork, ramen noodle, spicy kimchi, green onion, bone broth, bang sauce),

and the Greg's Favorite (Thinly sliced potatoes soaked in buttermilk, layered with Asiago & Mozzarella, rosemary-infused ham, arugula, olive oil).

The kid's noodles came with Japanese curry, but were pretty bland. The ramen wasn't anything special either. Thankfully, the pizza is among the best I have had to date. The only thing to come to this place for I guess.

From here, we went across the road to the parking lot there to go see the Magic of Lights, a drive -through Christmas lights display.

Don't think it was worth the 50 bucks we paid for it though.

December 6th 2020: Longhorn Steakhouse, Millbury

Today, we decided to have lunch at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Millbury. Same decor, just with social distancing in place.

This time around, we decided to get the Shrimp and Lobster Chowder (Creamy chowder with corn, red bell peppers and potatoes topped with fresh green onions.),

the Flo's Filet (most tender center-cut of beef; lean yet succulent, mouth-watering buttery texture, and subtle flavor. Hand-seasoned and cooked to perfection) with Seasoned French Fries and Seasoned Rice Pilaf and 4oz. Lobster Tail,

the Baby Back Ribs (full rack, Slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs seasoned and fire-grilled for extra flavor. Brushed with our housemade sweet and smoky BBQ sauce) with Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Potato (with cinnamon sugar and butter)

and the Steakhouse Mac and Cheese (with smoked bacon and four creamy cheeses).

The food was really good, especially the steak which was perfectly cooked and flavored, and the ribs with sinful fat. The only disappointment was the lobster, which seemed a little old.

November 28th 2020: Bliss Restaurant, Attleborough

 Today, after having liked the Bliss ice cream we bought from Cooper's Hilltop Farm in Leicester last week, we decided to seek it out today, going on a hike to find Prospect Hill Pond in Taunton at the end of Waverly Street. The path is really just a boat launch access road to the pond itself, which was pretty soggy today.

The restaurant itself is a popular diner in Attleborough.

We got the Greek Benedict (2 poached eggs with spinach and feta cheese and Hollandaise sauce served on English muffin with home fries)

and the Belgian Waffle with Berries and Cream (blueberries and whipped cream).

I usually don't go for feta cheese, but I have to say it went really well with the Hollandaise sauce this time around, and the waffle was flavorful as well, though not crispy. Excellent meal overall, I must say.
