I started off today in the town of Smithfield RI, going for a hike at the
Mowry Conservation Area, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
Semi decent falls at the dam area,
But nothing much more.
Next, the
Connors Farm Conservation Area, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
Once again, other than views of the pond,
nothing much here otherwise.
Next, it was back to
Georgiaville Pond to find the dam which eluded me
the last time around. Good thing I got it this time.
Next, it was on to the
Captain Stephen Olney Park in North Providence RI,
then Providence RI itself,

getting drenched from the intermittent thunderstorms, and going on a hike at

nice views of the dam
and the reservoir.
My next hike was at the
Hunt's Mills area, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
Beautiful dam,
but nothing much else.
With that, I called it a day for sightseeing, heading first to the
Sip N Dip Donuts location in town,
going for a delicious French Cruller,
and getting a Boston Cream for free as a result.
Next, I went nearby to
Campino's, a small Portuguese restaurant in town.
I decided to get the Sopa a Portuguesa (Portuguese soup, vegetable soup with chourico, meat, kidney beans and elbow pasta)
and the Camarao Grelhado (grilled jumbo shrimp in a fiery sauce with lemon, butter, beer and basil) .
The soup was just alright, although the sauce for the fresh and juicy shrimp was pretty tasty after a long day without food.
Finally, for dinner, we decided to check out
Noodle Hut, a new Chinese restaurant specializing in noodles in Waltham.
We had seasoned roasted peanuts for starters,
and ordered the Spicy Eight Jewel
and the Sichuan Wonton in Chili Sauce.
Interesting flavors, and pretty satisfying overall. Might be worth a second visit to try their other offerings.
