It was the last week for one of my colleagues, so we decided to have a farewell lunch at Red Pepper in Worcester.
We got 8 dishes in all, namely the Scallion-Pancake (葱油饼),
the Poached Fish w Cabbage in Hot Chili Sauce
the BBQ Pork Fried Rice
the Twice Cooked Bacon Spicy
the Kung Pao Chicken
the Stir Fried Pea Leaves (炒豆苗),
the Steamed Flavored Pork with Spiced Rice and Sweet Potatoes
and the Wine Sweet Ball
Of the new dishes, the twice cooked bacon was pretty good, although the pork with sweet potatoes was a little strong on the spices. The Kung Pao Chicken was alright I guess, but the best new dish was the fermented dessert, which was sweet despite having a hint of alcohol to it. Overall, glad my friends who are new to Szechuan food loved the food.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
