We went to check out the newest restaurant in Malden today, Ibasaw, which has all you can eat, dimsum, sushi and hotpot.
A really broad range of food available here, from sushi, szechuan food, dimsum, and dessert as well.
Needless to say, one of the better buffet places I have been to in Massachusetts.
Dinner was at an upscale Italian restaurant in Medford, Bistro 5.
We got the Duck Duo (Foie-Gras & Focaccia Bread Pudding with Rhubarb, Duck Prosciutto, Arugula),
the Gnocchi ( Hen-of-the-Woods Mushrooms, Panko Crumbs, Truffle Oil, Parmesan),
the Seared Pork Belly (Strawberry Red-Onion Portwine Jam, Baby Carrots, and Chive Red-Bliss Pommes Anna)
and the Strawberry Tiramisu (Prosecco braised strawberries, evoo cake, strawberry mousse, candied mint, and mint powdered sugar) for dessert.
Really excellent presentation, to start off with. The foie gras creme brulee was a really interesting and tasty concept, and the truffle oil on the gnocchi with the perfect texture, just heavenly. The pork belly was unfortunately a little too fatty for my liking. Thankfully, the dessert was a delight to savor. Overall, a really good meal, but really expensive for small portions as well.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
