August 22nd 2020: Checking Out Beaches in Gloucester

Today, we decided to get our fix of fried seafood at The Lobster Pool, a seafood restaurant in Rockport

with interesting decor inside

and a beautiful view outside.

During this time period of the pandemic, we had to line up outside the restaurant to wait for our turn to go in to place our order, for which we decided to get the New England Clam Chowder (classic chowder served with oyster crackers),

the Clam Plate
and the Lobster Roll (quarter pound of cold lobster meat dressed lightly with mayo on a grilled New England style hot dog bun served with French Fries).
We then went out outside to our table to wait for our order to be served to us. Excellent fried seafood and fresh lobster meat, complete with the view.

After our meal, we decided to check out some beaches in Gloucester,
Mount Adnah Cemetery,
Leonard Street and Norwood Heights

Annisquam Village Church

Gloucester United Methodist Church
starting out with the rocky Folly Cove Landing at 1277 Washington Street. which is more popular with divers than beachgoers.

Next, Plum Cove Beach at 1000 Washington Street, where there were a lot of people on the small beach.

We also wanted to check out Norwood Heights Beach and Cambridge Beach, but both of them were private and guarded, guess I'll have to go early in the morning then.

August 16th 2020: Checking Out Scituate Beaches in the Rain

Today, after getting some fresh fruit from A-C Farm Market at 1429 Dorchester Avenue in the Dorchester area of Boston,

Youth Art in Action,
1440 Dorchester Avenue
we decided to head to the beaches in Scituate. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the small beach at the end of Glades Road, which I will call the Glades Road Beach, it was raining, so we could not stay out long.

Next, we checked out Sand Hills Beach on Oceanside Drive,

then headed to Lighthouse Beach at the end of Lighthouse Road,

where the old Scituate Light is located.

With that, we called it a day and headed home, and that's when it stopped raining. Oh well.

August 15th 2020: Takeout from NOLA Cajun Kitchen, West Boylston

Today, we decided to get takeout from NOLA Cajun Kitchen in West Boylston, this time getting the Cajun Wings (lightly dusted, fried and tossed in pepper and Cajun Seasoning), Snow Crab Legs Seafood Boil (tossed in NOLA secret sauce, comes with potato and corn),

the Garlic Noodles

and the Crawfish Boulettes (crawfish tails and trinity of onions, bell peppers and celery, with a kick from Cajun Tartar, rolled, breaded and deep fried, served with Creole mustard).

Delicious as always, although the wings were a little soggy from the ride home.

August 2nd 2020: Viet Citron, Burlington

Today, we decided to grab food from Viet Citron, a new Vietnamese restaurant that has opened up in Burlington. Really nice decor for a casual eating place.
We had pre-ordered the Crispy Pork Belly (salt roasted crackling crispy pork belly),
and got 2 Thai Iced Teas on the house (we know the owners personally).
To say the least, the pork is the best I have ever had. Not too salty, yet perfectly crispy skin, complete with a smoky flavor. The tea was a little on the sweet side, but good for my sweet tooth. Will definitely come back for more whenever I am in the area.
