March 29th 2025: Dinner after a Haircut in Worcester

Today, after getting a haircut at Hair Adventure in Worcester,

We decided to have an early dinner at Texas Roadhouse in town, which was crowded as always.

This time, we got the Filet Medallions (Three tender filets (9 oz. total) topped with choice of Peppercorn or Portobello Mushroom sauce and served over seasoned rice) and Buttered Corn,
and the Macaroni and Cheese and Steak Fries.
Pretty good as always, but probably any other cut of meat would have been more worth it than filets.

March 22nd 2025: Finding the Windmill Farm in Princeton

Today, we embarked on a search for the Windmill Farm located within the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, where the path we took from 138 Westminster Road is shown below in pink.

We almost missed the side trail leading to the windmills,

but the view from there was pretty good.
We also went to find Siplas Pool, which ended up being just a break in the stream there.

Overall, a pretty nice day for a hike, although a little long for my other half and the little one.

March 20th 2025: A2B Indian Veg Restaurant, Northborough

Today, we decided to check out A2B Indian Veg Restaurant, a new Indian restaurant in the town of Northborough which has taken the place of Applebee's. Really nice decor now.

We got the Chikku Milkshake,

Idiyappam (Steamed rice flour string hoopers – a South Indian culinary speciality served with vegetable kurma & coconut milk), Parotta (South Indian multi layered flat bread),

the Masala Dosai (Classic South Indian thin crepe made of rice & lentil filled with seasoned potato masala),
the Lychee Paneer (Creamy curry cooked to perfection with lychee fruit, cottage cheese, onions, tomatoes & traditional spices.),

and Baby Jackfruit Sukka (pan roasted sukka fry made by cooking baby jack fruit chunks in caramelized onions, ginger, garlic and traditional spices)
The milkshake was surprisingly to my liking,  as was the crispy parotta and the interesting lychee curry, although the Idiyappam and baby jackfruit were bland to me, the dosai a little on the sour side, though crispy. Overall, pretty interesting a meal though.

March 16th 2025: Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade, Worcester

Today, after checking out the Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade in Worcester,

we decided to stop by the Popeye's in town for lunch,

getting the Surf & Turf (4 Butterfly Shrimp and 2 Chicken Tenders coated in traditional Louisiana herbs and spices and crisped to a delicious crunch. Includes a Regular Side, biscuit and your sauce of choice)
and the Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich (Our buttermilk battered all white meat chicken breast featuring our all-new Ghost Pepper Sauce. Served on a butter toasted brioche bun with barrel cured pickles.),

which came with Cajun Fries, Mashed Potatoes with Cajun Gravy and Red Beans & Rice.
Pretty good, except for the rice which was a little dry. Thankfully the chicken sandwich wasn't too spicy either.

The little one's first parade, although the Boston one was better I must say.

March 15th 2025: A Few Hikes in Princeton

Today, we took advantage of the nice weather to do a few hikes in Princeton,

Minns Wildlife Management Area

starting out with the Hall Field area, where the path we took from the junction of East Princeton Road and Sterling Road is shown below in pink.

Not bad views of the field,

although the wetland here was nothing much to look at.
Next, it was Calamint Hill Conservation Area, where the path we took from 20 Calamint Hill Road North is shown below in pink.

The small size on the map was pretty deceiving, as it took pretty look to get to each of the viewpoints. The east side was a much better view of the beaver pond though,

as compared to the west side.

Good day for a hike.

March 8th 2025: Eating Out in Shrewsbury

Today, we decided to check out the new Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant in Shrewsbury, Omi Korean Grill, which is all you can eat and has taken the place of Chinese Mirch, which we visited a few times in the past. Decent decor.

We went with the hot pot option, getting the White Creamy Taste and Chengdu Hot and Spicy for broth.

Other than the side dishes served at a salad bar, we got the Clams, Mini Chikuwa, Frog Leg, Lamb, Choice Rib Eye, Prime Rib, Mussels, Scallop, Udon, White Fish Fillet, Jumbo Shrimp,

Crab, Omasum, Spinach, Bok Choy and Watercress.

Somehow they forgot our side orders, but it was too much already anyway. Pretty fresh though, and bonus points on the salad bar.

We ended the day with a drink from Gong Cha nearby,

getting the Passion Fruit Yogurt Smoothie.

Pretty good end to a day of eating out in Shrewsbury.
