February 7th 2016: All You Can Eat Sushi at Nijiya

Lunch today was at Nijiya, an all you can eat sushi place in Medford.
we got a lot of food, namely the Miso Soup (soy bean soup) and Seaweed Salad,
the Tako Yaki (deep fried octopus nugget with sweet chilli sauce),
the Agedashi Tofu (fried tofu with light fish broth),
the Spicy Beef Udon Noodle Soup,

the Mackerel Nigiri, Back Draft Maki (cooked salmon, avocado, cucumber and eel sauce), Spicy Crab Hand Roll,
the Chicken Yakitori (grilled chicken breast meat on skewer with house teriyaki sauce),
the Shrimp Shumai (fried shrimp ravioli)
and the Tempura.
Of the food, only the seaweed, tofu and noodles were alright. The rolls and yakitori were downright bland, while the fried stuff were way too oily, making us feel sick after. Definitely not coming back here again.

February 6th 2016: Meals in West Boylston, Burlington and Malden

We started out today with some breakfast at Country Kettle, a small but cosy diner in West Boylston.

I got the Steakhouse Benedict (2 poached eggs, shaved sirloin steak on top of crispy hash browns and topped with Hollandaise sauce, served with choice of toast),

While my other half got the Blueberry Cobbler French Toast (Freshly baked Blueberry Cobbler bread dipped in butter and grilled).

My dish was a delicious combination of steak, Hash browns, egg and hollandaise sauce, but the today tasted a little weird. Overall, I actually like this place better than most diners I have been to in the Area.

Our next meal was at the Burton's Grill, an upscale chain restaurant in Burlington.

We got the Crab Bisque (crab meat, sherry, old bay seasoning)
and the Creole Shrimp (crispy grits, zesty cream sauce).
Pretty good stuff actually.

Next, while at the Burlington Mall, we decided to check out Bobby's Burger Palace, a pretty hip fast food place where you can add potato chips to your burger to crunchify it,

of which we got the L.A. (Avocado relish, watercress, cheddar cheese, tomato).
Not bad, but nothing special really.

Dinner was with family at Jack's Ristorante, a small Italian restaurant in Malden. By the time we started eating, the place was already full of people, mostly elderly.

For food, we got the Clams Casino (Fresh shucked clams with roasted peppers, garlic and crackers. Topped with bacon and baked to perfection served with lemon and cocktail sauce),
the Seafood Scampi (fresh calamari, Ipswich mussels, littleneck clams and shrimp, saute them in
white wine, garlic sauce and serve over linguini)

and the Veal Braccalitini (Tender veal medallions rolled with sweet cappacola and mozzarella cheese and baked to perfection with fresh mushrooms and Marsala wine),
which came with an Italian Wedding Soup.
The soup was a little bland, but otherwise everything else was pretty good, especially the veal with its cheese and marsala sauce.

The tiramisu unfortunately was just okay.

Overall though, I did not think this place was not that special, with nothing really different on the menu from other Italian places.

February 5th 2016: Dinner at 140 Pub N Club, Bellingham

Dinner tonight was at the 140 Pub N Club, a surprisingly nice looking bar restaurant in Bellingham.
A simple menu, we got the Clam Chowder and Southwestern Spring Rolls (2 mini wraps stuffed with southwestern chicken filling. garnished with boom boom sauce and scallions, served with sour cream) for appetizers,
and the Fish and Chips (Filet of Haddock lightly breaded and deep fried, served with French Fries and coleslaw) for a main course.

The soup and rolls were pretty good, especially the sauce for the rolls. The highlight of the night was the potato chips though, which were more curly wedges than not, but really crispy.

Overall, a good meal, but nothing special about this place.

Nothing special though.

February 3rd 2016: Lunch at Museum Cafe, Worcester

Today, I decided to grab lunch at the Museum Cafe, a nice place with a small menu located within the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester.
I got the Signature Pear and Wild Mushroom Soup (accented with gorgonzola cheese),
which was delicious, even with the cheese. Would recommend this place, although it only has sandwiches and some desserts.

Nothing special though.

February 1st 2016: Breakfast at Heritage Coffee Shop, Auburn

I decided to get breakfast from Heritage Coffee Shop, a diner in Auburn, this morning, getting the Meat Lovers Omelette.
Nothing special, but at least the hash browns were crispy.
