August 6th 2023: Exploring the City of Fall River

 Today, we were in Fall River,

Old Central Congregational Church,
100 Rock Street

Church of the Holy Spirit

Probate and Family Court

First Congregational Church

Christ the Rock Assembly of God

Children's Museum of Greater Fall River

St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church

First Baptist Church

City Gates Plaza

Point Gloria,
750 Davol Street

Borden Flats Light

we checked out Battleship Cove, 

a ship museum located within the Fall River Heritage State Park.

which was free admission today. We also checked out the Maritime Museum at Battleship Cove, which wasn't as impressive.

For lunch, we went to the McDonald's at 44 Williams South Canning Boulevard, which has unfortunately lost its train car.

We got the 6 pc Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal, which my little one ate all happily.

With that, an end to a day of exploring Fall River.

August 5th 2023: Sushi and Dessert in Worcester

 Today, while in Worcester, we decided to get lunch from Kenichi Bistro, which I visited once a long time ago.

This time, we got the Crazy Maki (Shrimp Tempura, Avocado, Cucumber & Fish roe with Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce), the Backdraft Maki (Baked Spicy Salmon, Avocado, Cucumber & Scallions)

the Kenichi Special Fried Rice (Special Fried Rice with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp and Vegetables with Garlic Butter)

and the Kenichi Home Style Dumplings Soup (Delicious Homemade Dumplings Stuffed with Pork, Shrimp and Mix Vegetables in dear Broth)

The sushi was not bad, although the rice and soup were just so-so.

For dessert, we headed nearby to Meraki Coffee Dessert Bar, a decent looking cafe serving dessert coffee and cakes.

we got the Cafe amore (coffee, cognac, amaretto, whipped cream),

the Oreo Mini Cheesecake

and the Ferrero Rocher Cake (chocolate log cake filled with hazelnut mousse and chunks of hazelnut rolled to perfection).

The coffee was not to my liking, and the dessert a tad sweet. Not sure why, but this place somehow rubs me the wrong way. Don't think I am coming back again.

 

August 4th 2023: Second Time at Ted's Montana Grill, Westborough

 Today, after checking out the new Coal Mine Brook Park at 616 Plantation Street in Worcester,

We decided to have dinner at Ted's Montana Grill in Westborough, which I visited once a long time ago. Don't remember what it looked like from over 10 years ago, but pretty nice inside.

We got the Bison Brisket (Pulled bison brisket, gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, buttered carrots)

and the Cheeseburger (bison) for the little one.

More gamey than I expected, but not bad overall.
