March 19th 2017: Getting Colorful in Framingham

We started out today with breakfast in the town of Concord,
Post Office
Milldam Square Condominiums,
100 Keyes Road
At Trail's End Cafe, a pretty nice looking place.
where we got the Chai Latte
and the Avocado and Bacon Egg Sandwich (cheddar, wilted spinach, tomato).
Not being a fan of Chai usually, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the drink was actually pretty good, not being very cinnamony. The croissant was delicious as well, and the bacon was cooked just perfectly, not being too salty either. Will definitely come back here again some day.

On the way to Framingham, we passed through Wayland,
The Wayland Depot
arriving a little early at Chinese Mirch before the festivities started. The event was to be held in a tent behind the restaurant.
The food came out first, to be had buffet style,
and after we had had our fill, the real entertainment, if the hip Indian music was not entertainment enough already, started with a Michael Jackson impersonator,
and instead of them using a machine to spew out colorful powder, bags of powder were distributed instead. We were the only 2 non-Indians there, complete with modified trash bags to try to protect our clothes from the powder, but in the end, they were literally useless. The cool part about this festival, is that it is totally communal, with random people coming up to you to rub powder on your face, which is why we were targeted, partly because we were new to the tradition.

We did not stay long though, not wanting to get more colored. It was definitely a fun experience, but not one we want to relive again, considering the mess we left in the house trying to wash our colored clothes.
