Kingston Congregational Church |
first checking out the University of Rhode Island Botanical Gardens, where it was raining by the time we got there. Thankfully, it wasn't so bad that I could not go around outside taking pictures.
I was trying to find a way into the Horridge Conservatory, and all the doors except for one were locked. I was lucky enough to find it, as there were some interesting plants inside.
From here, we headed to another garden nearby, the Kinney Azalea Gardens, where the flowers were still blooming, but about to die in the rain.
Done with flowers for the day, we decided to visit one more place in South Kingstown, the Hannah Robinson Tower.
The public is allowed to climb the graffiti covered tower, and so I did.
The view from the top was somewhat decent, even in this weather.
With that, we headed into Warwick RI, heading for the Warwick Mall.
We just so happened to pass by the Jordan's Furniture here right before the show Splash began, so we went to check it out. Not bad a show really, with fountains, lasers and music.
After the show, we decided to grab a bite at Newport Creamery in the mall,
getting a Cubano Waffled Grilled Cheese (sliced honey ham topped with melted Swiss Cheese, mayonnaise, tangy mustard and pickles)
and a Coffee Dessert Sundae with Strawberry Topping.
Decent food for a decent price.
With that, we called it a day and headed for home. A pretty productive day, considering the rain and all.
