August 2nd 2026: Spending the Day in Gloucester

Today, we started out in Manchester by the Sea,

Surf Park

going on a hike at Coolidge Reservation, where the path I took is shown below in pink.

Slightly obscured view from the top of Bungalow Hill,
then down to the shore of Clarke Pond,

and on to Gray Beach,

before checking out the amazing views from Ocean Lawn.

After the hike, we headed into Gloucester,
West Pond, 28 Lake Road

Union Congregational Church of Magnolia
Temple Ahavat Achim
Gloucester Police Department
Oak Grove Cemetery

Park at Fort Point, 25 Fort Square

Burnham's Field, 9 Sargent Street

going for lunch at Blue Collar Lobster Company, which apparently is the same as Gloucester House, just at a different time of year.

We got the Fisherman's Platter (Haddock, Shrimp, Scallops & Whole Belly Clams)

which had more fries than seafood, but still good overall.

From here, we went on a hike at Rafe's Chasm, where the path we took from 140 Hesperus Avenue is shown below in pink.

Nice views at the end, but more treacherous than at Ocean Lawn.

From here, we had a quick Latte

before checking out the Green campus of the Cape Ann Museum

and then the main campus itself.

Done for the day, our last stop was at the Kyuramen location in Burlington, which also has an Aoko Matcha located within it.

While waiting our seat, I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte from Aoko Matcha.
Surprisingly tasty, though a tad sweet for my other half.

As for the ramen place itself, pretty similar to the Brookline location, though unique in its own way.

We got the Kyuramen Street Ramen (Served with Beef Skirt, Shrimp Tempura, Pork Belly, Zucchini, Scallion, and Half Marinated Egg.)
and the Shoyu Beef Ramen (Served with Beef, Bamboo Shoot, Corn, Wakame, Scallion, Nori, and Half Marinated Egg.).
Interesting concept of the cup noodles, and really tasty meat an broth as always from this place.

Overall, a great end to a day spent in Gloucester.
