March 23rd 2017: Dessert at 2 Places in Worcester

After dinner, we decided to venture out into Worcester, getting some ice cream from Cool Licks, a small ice cream place in a sketchy part of Worcester, getting an Apricot Soft Serve,
which tasted like medicine after a while.

The Chai Latte we got from Yoway Cafe later had way too much cinnamon for me as well.
Oh well, not a good day for dessert I guess.

March 19th 2017: Getting Colorful in Framingham

We started out today with breakfast in the town of Concord,
Post Office
Milldam Square Condominiums,
100 Keyes Road
At Trail's End Cafe, a pretty nice looking place.
where we got the Chai Latte
and the Avocado and Bacon Egg Sandwich (cheddar, wilted spinach, tomato).
Not being a fan of Chai usually, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the drink was actually pretty good, not being very cinnamony. The croissant was delicious as well, and the bacon was cooked just perfectly, not being too salty either. Will definitely come back here again some day.

On the way to Framingham, we passed through Wayland,
The Wayland Depot
arriving a little early at Chinese Mirch before the festivities started. The event was to be held in a tent behind the restaurant.
The food came out first, to be had buffet style,
and after we had had our fill, the real entertainment, if the hip Indian music was not entertainment enough already, started with a Michael Jackson impersonator,
and instead of them using a machine to spew out colorful powder, bags of powder were distributed instead. We were the only 2 non-Indians there, complete with modified trash bags to try to protect our clothes from the powder, but in the end, they were literally useless. The cool part about this festival, is that it is totally communal, with random people coming up to you to rub powder on your face, which is why we were targeted, partly because we were new to the tradition.

We did not stay long though, not wanting to get more colored. It was definitely a fun experience, but not one we want to relive again, considering the mess we left in the house trying to wash our colored clothes.

March 18th 2017: Breakfast in Woburn, Bread in Burlington

We started out today with breakfast at W Cafe, a small but nice looking diner in Woburn,

getting the Steak and Eggs (3 eggs any style,  8oz sirloin, homefries and toast).

Nothing special though.  The steak tasted a little stale,  and the Shredded potatoes are just flat out bland. Not coming back again.

Later, while at H Mart in Burlington, we just had to stop by Tous Les Jours as always, this time getting the Chestnut Pan Bread,

The Soboro Red Bean Bread

and the Blueberry Cream Cheese Bread.

Really good bread from this place as always.

March 17th 2017: Getting Some Zoup! in Worcester

I was hungry after work today, so I decided to go get a quick bite from the new Zoup! location in Worcester.

I have been to this cafe chain before in Michigan a long time ago. I decided to get the White Bean and Turkey Sausage Soup,
and also got to try the Maryland Crab Soup while I was waiting in line. Really good selection of soups, and tasty too. Glad it has come to Worcester.

March 16th 2017: A Quick Snack at Yoway Cafe, Worcester

We heard that Yoway Cafe in Worcester recently started selling Delimanjoo, so we decided to go check it out tonight, buying a bag of 6 for $3.50.
Pretty good, and definitely much better than the ones we had at Cocohodo in Burlington.

March 15th 2017: Lunch at The Local, Wayland

We decided to get lunch today at The Local, a chic bar restaurant in the town of Wayland, which has other locations in Newton, Wellesley and Woburn.
We decided to get the Grilled Prime Meatloaf Sandwich (ground prime beef, roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, VT cheddar, handcut fries)
and the Street Tacos (clay pot beef, queso fresco, pico, warm flour tortillas).
The tacos were really bland, while the sandwich was nothing special.

Overall though, given the nice ambience and the interesting stuff on the menu, I might just come back, just might.

March 13th 2017: Cheap Dinner from Sarku Japan, Marlborough

We were at the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough tonight, so we decided to get some food from the food court here, getting Beef and Shrimp Teriyaki

and Chicken Bento (served with steamed rice, dumplings, shrimp tempura, mixed vegetables)

Not bad in terms of flavor, but nothing really special, as expected.
