April 23rd 2026: Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate, Boston

Today, there was an open house at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston, so we decided to go check it out. It was fun pretending to be a senator from New York.

From here, we went to Pho Le nearby in town for lunch, this time getting the Bun Rieu (Crab and Tomato Noodle Soup, crab paste, tomatoes, fried tofu and vermicelli noodle soup. Served with a side of fresh vegetables and shrimp paste)
and the Goi Ngo Sen (Lotus Root Salad, crunchy, pickled lotus roots tossed with poached shrimp, sliced pork and shredded carrots in fish vinaigrette).
Pretty good as always, although I think my mother-in-law makes them better.

After lunch, we got a Traditional Sugarcane

from Pho Bar Express, a new Vietnamese  restaurant nearby with locations elsewhere in the country.
Pretty good, might come back to try their food in future.

With that, an end to a day of checking out the EMK Institute for the US Senate.
