August 4th 2019: Charlestown Seafood Festival, Charlestown RI

This morning, after picking blackberries at Tougas Farm in Northborough,
we got a Blueberry Muffin
and the Cherry Scones,
which were a pretty good way to start the day. From here, passing through North Kingstown RI,
Living Hope Christian Church
we headed to Charlestown RI,
Charlestown Richmond Fire Department
Town Hall, 4540 South County Trail
First Baptist Church

checking out the Fantastic Umbrella Factory, which is like a hippie shopping mall.

From here, we headed to the Charlestown Seafood Festival, which was held at Ninigret Park.

We got Whole Bellied Clams
and a Hot Lobster Roll,
which were expensive considering the 10 dollar entrance fee. And to cook in the sun? Not sure we will come back again.

After leaving the festival, we took the opportunity to check out Blue Shutters Town Beach nearby at 469 East Beach Road, which was full of people today.
After leaving the beach, we headed for our next meal, at Noodle Revolution, a Thai restaurant in the town of Westerly RI, which didn't really have any space for parking. Pretty unassuming decor too.
For food, we decided to just get kid's portions of the Pineapple Fried Rice (chicken, raisins) and Pad Thai (rice noodles, chicken, peanuts).
Not bad, but might not come back again due to the ambience and lack of parking.

With that, we headed for home, passing by Stonington CT,
New Song Assembly
North Stonington CT
North Stonington Parks and Recreation
and Preston CT along the way.
Old Preston Library, 296 Jewett City Road
With that, an end to a day of checking out the Charlestown Seafood Festival.

May 20th 2017: Lobster Buffet at the Nordic Lodge, Charlestown RI

We have wanted to check out the Nordic Lodge in Charlestown RI for their famous lobster buffet for a long time, so we finally went today. We started out in Northborough with a Cinnamon Coffee Cake,
Way too cinnamony for me.

From here, we went past North Smithfield RI,
Milk Can Building
and Preston CT
Preston City Congregational Church
on the way to Westerly RI,
Westerly Fire Department Headquarters
Granite Theatre
Christ Church Episcopal
Town Hall, 45 West Broad Street
Westerly Land Trust
Post Office, 5 High Street
Westerly Pawcatuck War Memorial,
Main Street and Broad Street
Old Town Hall,
10 Union Street
Congregation Sharah Zedek
Central Baptist Church

where we checked out Wilcox Park for a bit,

then the Westerly Public Library.
From here, we headed to the Watch Hill area,
Ocean House
Ninigret Statue, 29 Bay Street
Watch Hill Chapel
Watch Hill Carousel
Watch Hill Beach

where I got to check out East Beach,

Watch Hill Light,
and a bit of Napatree Point,
with Latimer Reef Light far in the distance,

although I did not walk the stretch, as it was time to head for our lobster buffet. The place itself is
located within a pretty isolated area of Charlestown, although there are lots of tour buses bringing loads of tourists here every day. There are fun things to do outside,
while we are waiting for a table inside.
Finally at our table,
it was time to attack the food.
With all the variety available though, we ended up only eating 3 lobsters.
Definitely spent way too much money here. A good experience, but definitely too expensive.
