I stopped by Benny's Caribbean Cuisine, a Haitian restaurant at 610 Lincoln Street in Worcester which used to be a few other places I have been to in the past. I got the Lambi (conch) in Sauce, which came with rice and salad,
and the owner was nice enough to let me try Lambi Fritters as well.
Both were actually pretty good, although I preferred the fried conch.
Definitely better than all the other restaurants before this.
Right next door was parked a food truck Travelin' Bones
which served BBQ, and I had to get the Texas Style Brisket Sandwich with Travelin' Baked Beans,
both of which were flavorful as well, the brisket cooked just right.
Later at night, dinner was at Gochi Restaurant, a really new Chinese place at 391 Main Street in Malden, so new I can't even find any trace of it online.
It serves a lot of Szechuan food, but we decided to go with the Crispy Twice Cooked Pork (dongbei style, uses pork tenderloins, coated in potato flour, fried crispy and covered in thickened sauce with sliced ginger)
and the Shredded Potatoes with Chili and Vinegar.
Bad choices, really. The pork was dry, and the potatoes a tad too sour. Maybe we will come back to try their spicier stuff, but not sure about that because this place is pretty expensive for Chinese food with Fuloon just next door.
We happened to notice that there was a new Chatime location here as well, and decided to go check it out. Pretty nice decor.
We got the Taro Milk Tea with Red Beans, which was pretty good actually.
Not a bad day of trying out new places in Malden and Worcester.
