Today, we decided to spend some time in the town of West Boylston, checking out the pretty decent Pride Park Playground at 70 Crescent Street,
then the Beaman Memorial Public Library,
a nice library with a big children's area.
For dinner, we decided to head into Holden to check out the new Pholicious Asian Fusion Restaurant and Bar, a pretty nice restaurant inside that used to be a Friendly's. The restaurant is apparently affiliated with Kyoto, a hibachi place in Worcester I have been to several times in the past.
We got the Jim Beam Milk Tea (milk tea with bourbon),the Holden Tonkotsu Black (Thin noodles in pork broth with pork chashu, kikurage mushroom, green scallions, dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic oil, garlic chips, fried onion, and spicy sauce),the Nha Trang Rolls (Vietnamese style grilled ham, rolled in rice paper with various greens and herbs),the Korean Fried Chicken Bao (Korean fried chicken with pickled daikon & carrots, green onions, and hoisin sauce)and the Vietnamese Pandan Waffle (Original Pandan) for dessert. The drink was just alright by me, the alcohol blending into the flavor of the tea, but not adding to it. The appetizers weren't anything special, maybe being on the verge of being too strongly spiced. The flavor of the ramen was thankfully not bad though, as was the crispy waffle. Overall, a little too Americanized for our tastes to want to come back again. At least my son had fun in West Boylston today.
