December 20th 2024: Snowport, Boston

Coming into the Seaport area of Boston today, we started out with a quick bite at Borrachito Taqueria and Spirits,

We got the AL PASTOR (Marinated pork from the trompo, onions, cilantro, pineapple), CRACKLING PORK BELLY CARNITAS (Pork belly carnitas, crackling skin, pickled red onion, truffle Valentina, chicharron), JP JERK CHICKEN (Grilled chicken, jerk spices, cabbage salad, mint),BANG BANG CRISPY SHRIMP (Fried shrimp, tempura chips, herb salad, bang bang sauce, crispy garlic), NASHVILLE HOT CAULIFLOWER (Hot fried cauliflower, jalapeno ranch, blistered shishitos), NY DELI TACO (Ground beef, torched cheese, lettuce, onion, secret sauce).

Pretty tasty I must say, but hardly enough to feed four hungry people. Unfortunately Yume Ga Arukawa next door, which was our intended place for lunch, was still having a line in the snowy weather.

From here, we headed nearby to Snowport, the Christmas market in the Seaport area. Not bad, although it would have been nicer without the puddles on the ground.

For dessert, we stopped by Mia's Brooklyn Bakery,
where we got the Napoleon

and the Chocolate Chip Muffin.
Not bad, while watching the snow fall outside.

From here, it was on to play a little snow at the Lincoln Commons in Malden,
before heading to our next meal in town at Pho Eastern Restaurant, which has replaced Jack's Ristorante.

We got the Pho, Bo Vien (noodle soup with meatballs)

and the BÚN BÒ HUẾ ĐẶC BIỆT - HUE SPECIAL SOUP (Famous soup from the Hue region of Vietnam. Sliced shank, shrimp meatball, tendon and pork knuckle in a beef broth with minced lemongrass and served with thick vermicelli noodles), and Sinh To DÂU (Strawberry, banana, orange juice, yogurt).

Just alright, especially with the long drive home in the snow.
