Wish the place wasn't so run down though.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.

November 24th 2015: Checking Out New York Deli in Westborough
Today, I checked out the New York Deli, a place serving sandwiches in Westborough. I got the Reuben, which was not bad.
Wish the place wasn't so run down though.

November 23rd 2015: Checking Several Places in Northborough at Lunchtime
The first place I went to at lunchtime today was Festive Breads, a small but nice bakery in Northborough.
I got the Cotswold Croissant (ham, cheese, tomato, pickle, dijon on plain croissant),
which was pretty fresh and a delight to eat. My next stop was at Lalajava, a pretty cool looking cafe across the road.
They have some pretty interesting stuff on the menu as well, of which I got the Chocolate Truffle Iced Cocoa.
Pretty refreshing to say the least.
My last stop for lunch was at Pickle Haus Deli in town, which was pretty packed with people today. I got the Berkeley Panini (Tuna Salad, Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Tomato, on Thick-Sliced White Bread),
which was cheap and good.
Overall though, I would prefer Festive Breads if you are only in the area to visit, although Pickle Haus is good for a cheap meal.

November 22nd 2015: Eating in Newton
Dinner today was at New Sapporo Restaurant, a new Japanese restaurant located in the basement level in Newton.
We went with the Uni (sea urchin)
and the Hokkigai (surf clam) Nigiri,
along with the Seafood Gopdol (shrimp, squid, scallop).
The nigiri was just alright, although the Korean rice was pretty good.
Dessert was at Sweet Tart nearby, which looked pretty run down. The froyo we got
was just alright too.

November 15th 2015: Taiwanese Lunch at Chung Shin Yuan, Newton
We had breakfast at the Broken Yolk Restaurant in Malden today, getting the Corned Beef Hash (two Eggs any style and home fries).
Nothing special, really.
Lunch today was at Chung Shin Yuan in Newton, a small but really popular Taiwanese restaurant in town.
We got the Soy Bean Milk (sweet),
the Pork Tripe Salad,
the Spicy Stewed Beef Noodle Soup,
the Small Steamed Buns,
the Tofu Jello in Light Syrup
and the Twisted Doughnut.
The milk was good, but we did not have the donut to dip into it at the time. The pork tripe was extremely spicy, but thankfully the beef stew wasn't. The tofu dessert was pretty good too, and I was glad we got the donuts at this point, because they were the crispiest and the best I have had to date. The only disappointment was the dumplings, with no soup and hence just pretty ordinary stuff. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this place.
Nothing special, really.

November 14th 2015: Brunch at Britney's Cafe, Northborough
We had brunch today at Britney's Cafe, a pretty nice and popular breakfast place in Northborough, with lots of interesting stuff on the menu, Of those, we got the Hot Chocolate,
the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast (strawberry preserves and cream cheese filling inside French toast, butter and powdered sugar)
and the Meaty Pancake Breakfast (two eggs any style on top two meaty pancakes (bacon, sausage and ham throughout) topped with hollandaise sauce with hash browns).
The french toast and pancakes were not bad, although the hash browns stole the show with their crispiness.
Pretty interesting place, I would come back again.

November 13th 2015: Dinner at Chuan Shabu, Worcester
I was hungry this morning, so I went to get a Blueberry Bagel with Cream Cheese
from Bagel Time, a small bakery in Worcester.
Not a bad start to the day. After work, we had dinner at Chuan Shabu in Worcester. My second time here, we got the Surf and Turf with Shandung noodles, just with Tom Yum broth this time,
and also the Frog Legs with Spicy Sauce in Hot Wok.
The broth was really delicious, as was the frog legs, although I wish they had removed all the bones.
For dessert, we got the Passion Fruit Cheesecake,
which was a little intense at times, and I wasn't really a fan of the coconut shavings in the crust.
Overall though, a decent meal, though really expensive.

November 10th 2015: Lunch at Via Italian Table, Worcester
We had lunch today at Via Italian Table in Worcester, getting the Porchetta (sliced boneless pork roast with layers of fresh herbs and spices, pork belly, and pork tenderloin, rolled and slowly roasted. Served with Tuscan roasted potatoes, salsa verde, and pork reduction),
which came with an Insalata Mista (mixed greens, house vinaigrette),
and the Butternut and Soppressata (mozzarella, soppressata, balsamic onions, fresh oregano) Grilled Pizza.
Everything was really good, although the crust for the pizza was a little hard.
For dessert, we got the Mascarpone Cheesecake (Almond biscotti crust, topped with cherries, blueberries and stawberries with a pomegranate reduction),
which was an excellent end to another great meal at Via.
