March 2nd 2024: More of Panera, Westborough

 Today, after checking out MassDojo in Westborough,

We decided to grab some food at Panera Bread in town, getting the Turkey Chili,

the Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup

and the Spicy Take Chicken Sandwich.

The chicken patty itself wasn't crispy, but the crispy bits within the sandwich itself more than made up for it. Pretty good meal for cheap.

February 17th 2024: RICE MA Lunar New Year and Tet Festival

 Today, after getting a box of truffles from Hebert Candies in Shrewsbury 

containing (White Chocolate Rum Truffle, White Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle, Milk Chocolate Triple Chocolate Cream, Orange Foil Wrapped Orange Dark Chocolate Truffle, Red Foil Wrapped Chocolate Milk Chocolate Truffle, Dark Chocolate Cherry Cream, Sugar Free Milk Chocolate Orange Sherbet Cream, Dark Chocolate Irish Cream Truffle, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup),

we headed to the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester in Worcester

to watch the RICE MA Lunar New Year and Tet Festival.

Pretty fun this year, although the little one did not win the Ao Dai contest. Oh well.

February 9th 2024: Dinner with Family at Baba Sushi, Worcester

Today, we decided to have dinner at Baba Sushi in Worcester, which I visited a few times in the past, way before the start of this blog. Since that time, a new extension has been added.

We got the Lychee Martini (Square One Botanical Vodka, Soho Lychee, Lillet Rouge, Lychee Nectar, Soda),

the Gyoza (Crispy, fired pork dumplings, served with sesame tempura sauce),

the Sumo Oysters Supreme (Local oysters on the half-shell with our homemade yuzu citrus sauce, Tabasco, black caviar & scallions).

the Asian Stir Fry (Baba classic stir fried vegetables tossed with homemade Japanese udon noodles),

 the Spiderman Maki (Tempura soft shelled crab, enoki mushrooms, seaweed salad, wrapped in soy, topped with kabayaki sauce & sweet potato crunch), Caterpillar (Eel, cucumber, topped with avocado, masago & kabayaki sauce), Spider (Tempura soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado, mixed greens, masago, Japanese mayo & kabayaki sauce), Green Fire Maki  (Shrimp tempura and cream cheese topped with sliced tuna, seaweed salad, kabayaki & chili sauce), Rock & Roll Maki (Shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with spicy tuna & kabayaki sauce).

Unfortunately, I feel the standard of food here has gone down over the years, despite it having many locations now. The sushi was so not fresh at all! What a disappointment for my family.

    

February 4th 2024: Chinese New Year 2024, Shrewsbury

 Today, we attended the Chinese New Year 2024 Celebrations held at Shrewsbury High School. I must say, the performances were better than last year, especially the little ones.

February 3rd 2024: Jump Nation, Shrewsbury

 Today, after getting a Mango Pineapple Tropical Smoothie from the McDonald's in Hudson,

We went for a birthday party at Jump Nation in Shrewsbury. Nothing really special about this place in my opinion, and a little on the dingy side.

At least the little one had loads of fun.

January 20th 2024: Michette, Somerville

 Today, while in Somerville, we decided to check out the small French bakery Michette, 

getting the Raisin Roll

and the Chocolate Croissant.

Nothing special really, and nothing fancy about the place either.

January 18th 2024: Fast Food in Northborough and Westborough

 Today was another day for more fast food, starting with the Subway location inside the Walmart in Northborough, 

getting the The Great Garlic (rotisserie-style chicken, 2 x Monterey Cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, Peppercorn Ranch, toasted),

which was actually pretty good, especially with the bacon. We then got a Strawberry and Creme Pie from the McDonald's nearby in Westborough,

and the Specialty Chicken – Classic Hot Buffalo from Domino's nearby.

Unfortunately the chicken was soggy. Otherwise, a pretty good day of fast food in the area.
