Rather than doing Starbucks again this morning, we decided to try something local, checking out Gula's Bakery, a Brazilian cafe at 295 Salem Street in Medford.
We got a Brazilian Rocambole,
Sugarcane Juice,
and the Goiabada Special Pancakes (guava paste).
Everything pretty much was not to our taste, especially the guava paste and the sugarcane, although the cake was not too bad. Overall, not coming back again.
For lunch, we were in Waltham again, at Umi Japanese and Asian Cuisine this time around.
.Nothing really special on the menu, but we decided to get the Caterpillar Roll (Spicy eel, cucumber inside with avocado on top)
and the Beef Teriyaki Bento Box (Served with miso soup, house salad (Fresh green salad with homemade special ginger sauce), white rice, 3 pieces of California roll (Avocado, cucumber and crab meat), and 3 pieces of shumai (Round shell shrimp dumpling served steamed or pan fried with house sauce)).
As expected though, nothing special. Green Papaya next door was definitely much better.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
