Today, we decided to check out the new Japanese cafe in Brookline, Gen Sou En Tea House. This place is pretty nice,
For food, we got the Hojicha (roasted) Green Tea,
the Katsu Sando (Fresh-baked shokupan bread, 5-layer pork, panko-crusted and deep fried, with Japanese slaw and tangy tonkatsu sauce),
the Japanese Souffle Cheesecake (combination of creamy cheesecake and airy soufflé),
and the Matcha Cream Puff (Crisp puff pastry filled with matcha pastry cream and whipped cream).
Really tasty stuff, especially the sandwich, which I realized was composed of pretty much 5 pieces of ham. Interesting concept though. Definitely going to come back some day to try other stuff.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
