After finally leaving the area, we decided to have dinner at Luna Caprese Italian Restaurant nearby, where I had a coupon to use. The decor was pretty cosy, and the menu had pretty interesting stuff as well, so we thought the meal would be promising.
It turned out that we were horrendously wrong. Our first dish, the Funghi Tiberio (Mushroom caps stuffed with escargot and Romano cheese, finished in a lemon butter sauce over garlic spinach), wasn't presented very well, and was just alright in taste, and way overpriced for the 10 bucks it cost.
The next dish, the Minestrone (Hearty tomato broth, seasonal vegetables and pasta) was even worse, being way too salty for us to stomach, and definitely not flavorful at all.
The Scampi Alla Caprese (Shrimp sautéed with homemade limoncello, lemon juice, olive oil, fresh herbs, fresh tomatoes and garlic over mixed greens) tasted much like the first dish, just much messier and less appetizing.
The worst was yet to come in our main dish, the Agnello A Modo Mio (Mustard crusted roasted rack of lamb with a side of raisin sauce), which was burnt and flavorless, and the sauce did nothing to help at all either.
The dessert of Chocolate Lasagna (layers of chocolate sponge cake, cream filling, chocolate fudge pudding, topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips)
was also a piece of crap. Worst of all, all the time we were there, there was a huge argument going on between the chef and his waitress. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences we have had to date. Not coming back here for sure, coupon or not.
