Today, I decided to have lunch at Big T's Mill Street BBQ Company in Worcester, a new BBQ place that has taken over from Legacy Bar and Grill, which I visited not too long ago when it was new. Decor still looks pretty much the same though.
For food, I got the Slider and Soup Combo (1 pulled pork and slaw slider (slow smoked pulled pork topped with creamy house made coleslaw), 1 Carolina Chicken slider with cheddar (boneless BBQ pulled chicken tossed in chicken rub, slathered in Carolina mustard slather, topped with house bacon and cheddar sauce), 1 House Cured Smoked Sausage Slider (house ground smoked sausage loaded with roasted tomatoes, onions, peppers and smoked gouda) and Chilli (chopped BBQ, baked beans, southwest spices steeped in Kentucky whiskey and topped with cheddar and cornbread lid),
which allowed me to try a lot of their offerings at one go, and to be honest, I wasn't disappointed at all. Extremely flavorful food to say the least, especially the smokiness of the chilli, which wasn't too tomatoey for once. Definitely a recommend from me.
For dinner, we headed to Mexico City Taqueria in Ashland. Pretty interesting looking place with 2 floors, although only the first floor is used.
We got the Mexican Street Corn (Fresh steamed corn on the cob topped with mayo and cheese, sprinkled with tajin chili powder),
the Al Pastor ( Roasted marinated pork with grilled pineapple ) and Pescado (grilled fish) MEXICAN STYLE TACOS (Soft corn tortilla topped with fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and your choice of mild, medium or hot sauce on the side),
the Carne (Braised Beef) Chimichanga Plate (Fried burrito stuffed with rice, beans, cheese, salsa, and pico de gallo, topped with salsa and sour cream and your choice of meat or veggies),
and the Chocoflan for dessert.
The food was alright I guess, although the chimichanga was soggy, and the corn was a little on the sour side. Not one of the best Mexican places in my opinion.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
