November 7th 2021: Festival of Illumination, Mendon

Today, we decided to visit the Festival of Illumination in Mendon, set up within the Southwick's Zoo. Pretty nice exhibits.

After we were finally done with the exhibits, we decided to have dinner at Galliford's Restaurant and Tavern, located right beside the zoo.

Pretty nice decor inside.

We got the Apple Cider Martini,

which was like apple cider with a hint of alcohol,

the New England CLAM CHOWDER (Clams, diced potatoes, bacon, cream, and thyme),

the Kale & Craisin (Shredded kale mixed with craisins, diced apples, carrots, and an orange pomegranate vinaigrette. Topped with pumpkin seeds).

and the Chicken Marsala (Sauteed chicken breast, sliced mushroom blend, sweet marsala demi, served with penne).

Surprisingly good food at a touristy spot. Worth checking out I say.

August 24th 2019: Second Time at Southwick's Zoo, Mendon

Today, we decided to bring our little one to the Southwick's Zoo in Mendon.

Pretty much the same as the first time I visited. Somehow our little one was frightened of the goats, but not the deer in the Deer Forest.

From here, it was on to a friend's house party in Reading, then to H-Mart in Burlington nearby for some grocery shopping, where we got the Green Tea Butter Cream Bread from the Tous Les Jours there.

Pretty tasty, especially after putting it into the toaster.

At this point, I decided to get some food, stopping by Everybody's Favorite Family Restaurant, a diner in town, getting the Breakfast Special (2 eggs, toast and homefries).

An alright meal, but nothing special.

A pretty good day of exploring Cumberland, even with all that snow.
