It was time to visit NYC again, this time starting with lunch at Sin Kee, a Singaporean food place at 136-20 38th Avenue in Queens NY,
located within Queens Crossing.
We got the SINGAPORE CHAI TOW KUEH (Homemade radish cake stir fried with eggs and pork lard for extra shiokness. spicy sambal chili),
the SINGAPORE OYSTER OMELET (Plump baby oysters cradled in golden fried eggs and batter. Homemade belachan chili)
and the Hainanese Chicken Rice (Served with our chicken oil and broth fragrant rice with sides of marinated chicken gizzards and spicy achar pickles.).
We also checked out other stores here, getting the Oh K Classic Egg Toast from
Oh!K-Dogand a Blood Orange Mochi Donut (Tapioca Starch, Blood Orange puree, Orange Zest) from
Paris Baguette.
We then headed to
Flushing Meadows Corona Park for the rest of the day,
We then headed to dinner at
Waterzooi, a Belgian restaurant in town,
getting the Waterzooi Gran Cru (golden triple with champagne like carbonation, nots fo dried fruit, apple and a beautiful mint flavor balanced with the bitterness of hand selected hops),
the Waterzooi Moules Pots (Smoked salmon, creamy tarragon champagne broth),
and the Fried Calamari and Frites and Mayonnaise
A good start to our little vacation.
