March 10th 2015: Dinner with a Friend at Carrabba's, Peabody

Today after work, I had dinner with my friend at Carrabba's Italian Grill, a chain Italian restaurant located in the town of Peabody.

We got the Brick Oven Baked Fontina Bruschette (Brick oven baked fontina and marinara served bubbling in a hot cast iron dish with oven-baked ciabatta bread) for an appetizer,

and the Chicken Trio ( CHICKEN BRYAN (Topped with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, basil and housemade lemon butter sauce), POLLO ROSA MARIA (Stuffed with fontina cheese and prosciutto, topped with mushrooms and housemade basil lemon butter sauce), CHICKEN MARSALA (Wood-grilled and topped with mushrooms, proscuitto and housemade Lombardo Marsala wine sauce)) for our meal,

which came with a side Sausage and Lentil Soup.
The cheese sauce was pretty good, with both of us heaping it onto our bread and even using our starter bread as well. The same treatment somewhat was done with the soup, which was a little on the spicy side, but in a good way. We even got a second bowl by mistake, which just made the meal all the more worth it, with my gift card and online 15% discount.

The main dish was a little disappointing though, the chicken being dry, and the sauces being a bit on the salty side. The cavatappi it came with was pretty good though, thankfully.

Overall, not too bad, but not a place I would come back to.

After dinner, we went to Showcase Cinemas De Lux Revere to watch a movie. Unfortunately, due to our time of arrival, the only show available without much of a wait time was the cartoon movie "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water". I had a feeling it would be lame, and it was, although it was funny at times. Oh well. It was nice spending time with my friend though.
