Today, I decided to grab breakfast from Sandee's, a nice looking diner in Lancaster.
I got the Boston Benedict (Croissant filled with scrambled eggs, corned beef hash and hollandaise sauce),
Pretty delicious stuff and filling. Not sure which of the two diners here I prefer, both are pretty good.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.

February 27th 2019: Bagel from Coffeelands, Clinton
Today for lunch, I decided to check out Coffeelands, a hippy cafe in the town of Clinton.
I got the Avocado Pistachio Bagel Sandwich (cream cheese, avocado, pistachio, honey, salt and pepper),
which was pretty good, although a little on the expensive side. Not bad at all though.

February 26th 2019: Work Lunch from Panera, Shrewsbury
Today at work, we got lunch from Panera Bread in Shrewsbury. I got the Modern Caprese (Basil-white bean puree, sliced mozzarella, parmesan, arugula, smoked tomato confit, fresh basil, balsamic glaze, salt and pepper, toasted on Black Pepper Focaccia.) and Candy Cookie (Freshly baked sugar cookie topped with colorful milk chocolate candies), which came with chips as well.
Pretty good sandwich and cookie as well.

February 23rd 2019: Revisiting 2 Vietnamese Places in Boston
While in the Dorchester area of Boston, we had to grab food from the Vietnamese restaurants here, firstly at Pho Le,
getting the Com Hen (Baby Clam Rice, spicy rice bowl with baby clams, crushed black sesame crackers, shredded lettuce, mango, green apple, banana blossom and taro stem, topped with whole roasted peanuts. Served with clam borth on the side and mam ruoc to taste)
and the Nem Nướng Nha Trang (Nha Trang Rolls, Vietnamese style grilled ham rolled in rice paper with a variety of greens and herbs. Served with warm Nem Nướng dipping sauce).
Pretty good stuff from this place, although I don't recall the rice being that spicy.
Next, we got the Sua Dau Xanh La Dua (Green Bean Milk with Pandan Leaves)
from Banh Mi Ba Le,
and finally the Mixed Fruit with Miss Lolita drink
from Up Tea Hub in Malden.
Great drinks again from these places.

February 22nd 2019: Dinners in Waltham and Medford
On the way home today, I was feeling really hungry, so we decided to stop at Bistro 781, a pretty new and upscale bar restaurant in Waltham.
We got the Cauliflower Tacos (Corn Tortillas, Crispy Cauliflower, Avocado, Mozzarella, Cumin Toasted Sunflower Seeds, Honey Sriracha, Shaved Purple Kale),
and the 1/2 DOZEN OYSTERS (Cocktail Sauce, Cucumber Agrodolce).
Very fresh oysters, and a delicate combination of flavors for the tacos. A little on the expensive side though.
We were not satisfied though, so we decided to head to Zam Zam Restaurant, an Indian restaurant in Medford,
We got the Chicken Achari (spicy and sour curry),
which was a good portion for both of us, and delicious and tender too, although I would not recommend eating the pickles as they are too strong in flavor. Good day for eating out, really.

February 18th 2019: Lunch at Thai Pepper, Milford
Today, while in the area, we decided to get lunch at Thai Pepper, a decent Thai restaurant in the town of Milford.
We got the Fiery Pad Thai (Spicy version of traditional Pad Thai (stir fried with rice noodles, egg, scallions, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts.) with chicken and shrimp)
and the Rama Duck (Crispy roasted duck simmered in red curry and peanut sauce).
Pretty good for Americanized Thai food, I must say. Might just come back again.

February 16th 2019: Buffet Lunch at Flaming Grill and Buffet, Malden
We were a little hungry today, and decided to check out the Malden location of Flaming Grill and Buffet. Very similar in decor to the Revere location, which we visited once before.
Nice variety of food, but nothing that special. Cheap though.

February 15th 2019: Lunch in Marlborough, Dinner in Malden
I headed into Marlborough today
for lunch at Kennedy's Pub, a decent and popular bar restaurant in town.
I got the Pub Popover (served with butter and beef broth)
and the Cheesy Tots (crispy tater tots, melted cheese and crisp bacon).
Both dishes were not bad, especially with the sauces provided. Might just come back here again.
For dinner, we decided to stop by Emone Tofu, the new Korean restaurant that has taken the place of Wow Barbecue, which I visited a long time ago. Much brighter now than before.
We got the Seafood and Beef Tofu Soup (beef, shrimp, oyster, clam)
and the Bulgogi (marinated thin sliced grilled beef),
which came with side dishes as well.
The tofu was tasty with the shellfish and beef, although the other beef dish was a little on the sweet side. The side dishes were not too bad as well. Overall, a better replacement for the Chinese BBQ place, for sure.

February 14th 2019: Chinese Takeout from Jade Garden, Upton
I decided to get Chinese takeout today, this time from Jade Garden, a Chinese restaurant in Upton,
getting the General Gau's Chicken, which came with Pork Fried Rice, Chicken Fingers
and Hot and Sour Soup.
The chicken fingers and soup were not bad, although the main dish was on the verge of being soggy, and the rice bland. Not coming back again for sure.

February 13th 2019: Brunch at Michael's Bridge Diner, Lancaster
Today, I decided to go check out Michael's Bridge Diner in Lancaster for brunch. Expecting this place to be a typical small town place, I was surprised by the size of it, and the stuffed animals all over the place.
The menu looked very interesting as well, of which I got the Little Bear's Monte Cristo (Sliced ham, turkey and Swiss cheese on Texas toast dipped in egg batter, grilled and topped with confectioner's sugar).
Pretty good, especially with maple syrup. Not a bad place to come back to, actually.

February 11th 2019: Porketta Lunch at Depot Street Tavern, Milford
We had lunch at Depot Street Tavern in Milford today, which is actually more of a dive bar than a restaurant.
Pretty popular place though, judging by the crowd for lunch. We got the Homemade Porketta Ravioli (Homemade porketta ravioli tossed with a ragu of wild boar, tomato, wild mushrooms, onions, celery, garlic, carrots, red wine. Simmered for hours and finished with a drop of cream and romano cheese. Topped with fresh shaved fennel and served with homemade garlic bread )
and the Porketta Burger (Ground pork seasoned with roasted garlic, cracked black pepper and chili flakes, topped with shaved fennel salad and provolone cheese on a local bakery roll. Served with hand cut potato chips).
The ravioli were delicious with the sauce, and although the burger felt a little bland at first, the true flavor began to show through eventually.
Can see why this place is so popular, despite its shabby appearance.

February 9th 2019: Lunch in Lunenburg, Dessert in Fitchburg
After checking out the Hue Lam Meditation Temple
and Wat Lao Dhammaram Buddhist Temple in Fitchburg,
We decided to have lunch at Bangkok Hill in Lunenburg, which I visited a long time ago.
This time around, we got the Duck Salad (crispy duck with fresh green apple, carrot, red onion, peppers, mushrooms, and ground peanuts with chilli sauce)
and the Drunken Noodle (Wide rice noodle with peppers, onions, bamboo shoots, basil leaves, egg and chili pepper sauce).
The salad was small in portion, but flavorful, the duck being crispy, while the noodles were not bad either. Pretty Americanized though.
For dessert, we headed back into Fitchburg to check out Dutch Kitchen Bake Shop and Deli, which we thought would be a hole in the wall, but was actually quite nice when we got there, with a lot of customers too.
We got the Knotted Rolls,
Peanut Butter Cannoli, French Cruller and Pineapple Upside Down Cake,
The cannoli and the cake were delicious, although the donut dessert did not do it for me.
Maybe we will try the other stuff next time.
