August 10th 2019: Fruit Picking at Lanni Orchards, Lunenburg

This morning, we decided to go pick some fruit at Lanni Orchards in Lunenburg, hoping to pick some raspberries, but they were pretty much done for the season.

Instead, we resorted to pick blueberries, which were really small,
and peaches, which were just starting to ripen.
Really run down place though. Will probably not be back.

For lunch, we decided to go to Dragonfly Garden Cafe in town, a pretty nice cafe in a house.
We got the Merry Berry Vanilla (blueberries with low fat vanilla yogurt) drink
and the Garden Vegetable Wrap (cucumbers, tomatoes, red cabbage, green leaf lettuce, zucchini, fresh herbs, cheddar), which came with a Pasta Salad.
Pretty healthy stuff, yet full of flavor. Not a bad meal to say the least.

February 9th 2019: Lunch in Lunenburg, Dessert in Fitchburg

After checking out the Hue Lam Meditation Temple
and Wat Lao Dhammaram Buddhist Temple in Fitchburg,
We decided to have lunch at Bangkok Hill in Lunenburg, which I visited a long time ago.
This time around, we got the Duck Salad (crispy duck with fresh green apple, carrot, red onion, peppers, mushrooms, and ground peanuts with chilli sauce)
and the Drunken Noodle (Wide rice noodle with peppers, onions, bamboo shoots, basil leaves, egg and chili pepper sauce).
The salad was small in portion, but flavorful, the duck being crispy, while the noodles were not bad either. Pretty Americanized though.

For dessert, we headed back into Fitchburg to check out Dutch Kitchen Bake Shop and Deli, which we thought would be a hole in the wall, but was actually quite nice when we got there, with a lot of customers too.
We got the Knotted Rolls,

Peanut Butter Cannoli, French Cruller and Pineapple Upside Down Cake,
The cannoli and the cake were delicious, although the donut dessert did not do it for me.

Maybe we will try the other stuff next time.

August 15th 2018: Visiting the Lunenburg Historical Society in the Morning

I started out this morning in Merrimack NH,
Wasserman Park
going on a hike at Horse Hill Nature Preserve, with the route I took being shown below in pink.
Nothing to see at either of the summits, and there wasn't much at the first crossing of the power lines,
or much at the White Pine Swamp area,
although the views of Long Pond were not bad,
as were those of Lastowka Pond.
Overall, a decent hike because of the ponds, even in the foggy weather. From here, I headed to Lunenburg MA to check out the Historical Society, which was finally open today.
Pretty interesting collection of stuff. One of the better historical town museums I have been to, though still small.

After work, I headed to the Harvard Square area of Cambridge, going to Oggi Gourmet, a sandwich place,

to get a Roast Beef Grilled Pressed Sandwich (with horseradish mayo, lettuce and tomato)
and a bowl of soup.
The sandwich was not bad, although the soup was nothing special.

I also went to Tom's Bao Bao nearby, which serves Chinese steamed buns,
getting the Seasonal Lobster Mini Bun.
Once again, nothing special.

August 8th 2018: 4 New Hampshire Towns in the Morning

This morning, I passed through Lunenburg,
Old Lunenburg Primary School,
End of School Street
Chelmsford,
Primrose School
Nashua NH,
Christmas Tree Shops
Round Pond, Amherst Street
Merrimack NH,
St. John Neumann Church
Merrimack Valley Baptist Church
Stump Pond, 15 Craftsman Lane
and Amherst NH
St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church
to reach Hollis NH,
Silver Lake State Park
where I went on a hike at the Spalding Park Town Forest. The path I took here is shown below in pink.
Other than Dunklee Pond,
everything else was pretty much wetlands.
With that, I called it a day, heading to Shrewsbury to check out the newest restaurant there, Atlantic Poke, which operates in a Chipotle sort of way.

I got The Sashimi (tuna, salmon, edamame, seaweed, green onion, cucumber, Atlantic Sauce (house creamy sweet mayo sauce),
Not bad I guess. Overall though, it is worth a try, but for the price, probably not worth going back a second time.
