Today after work, we went to the Providence Children's Museum in Providence RI, which had free admission after 5 pm. Nothing much here though in my opinion.
For dinner, we headed nearby to Pot Au Feu Bistro, an upscale French restaurant in the downtown area.
For food, we got the Pot Au Feu (tender beef and chicken braised in a rich bouillon with a melange of fresh vegetables – onions, leeks, carrots, celery, cabbage and red bliss potatoes. The meat and vegetables are separated from the broth which is perfect for dipping a warm crusty slice of our French bread. Traditional garnishes of coarse salt, cornichons baby pickles and warm creamy horseradish mustard sauce are presented with Pot au Feu),
which came with a Salade Verte (a mixture of seasonal greens with Housemade Mustard Vinaigrette and Raspberry Balsamic Vinaigrette),
and the Mousse Au Citron (citron mousse with lemon lime zest whisked to airy perfection topped with fresh berries in sugar syrup) for dessert.
The stew was really flavorful, though simple, while the sauce for the salad was excellent as well. Dessert pretty much perfected the meal. Will definitely come back again some day.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
