July 1st 2023: Vacation Day 1 in Connecticut

Today, we embarked on a 2 day vacation in 2 states, starting out in Greenwich CT with lunch at the Elm Street Oyster House,

getting the Fish and Chips,
the Lobster Roll (Hot w/ Truffle Fries & Cole Slaw)
and the Spinney Creek Steamers.

After our delicious meal, we headed to Greenwich Avenue,

the shopping street in town, checking out several places here.
St. Mary Church

Tiffany and Co.

Bank of America

getting a so-called Frozen Yogurt (swirl)

from Pasta Vera, an Italian restaurant with terrible service,

telling us we could not eat at the tables outside as we were only having ice cream. It was more of a soft serve anyway. Definitely not coming back again.

We went next to Maman, a bakery cafe nearby,

getting the banoffee cruffin (our classic cruffin stuffed with dulce de leche, topped with banana cream & dusted in sugar)
Pretty good I must say.

From here, we went to check out the Greenwich Library nearby,

From here, we headed back to our hotel at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Stamford / New York City.

A crappy place I must say, never coming back again.

The day was still young, so we decided to head to the playground at Mill River Park

Apparently there is another area of the park that is not so crappy looking.

From here, we headed to the Stamford Town Center shopping mall,

checking out the Barnes and Noble here,
then heading for dinner at Peter Chang, a Chinese restaurant nearby.
We got Wuhan Sesame Noodle (thin wheat noodle served with scallion, pickled vegetables and cilantro in a hot sesame sauce),
and the Chongqing Fried Chicken (pieces of lightly crisped chicken stir fried with dried Szechuan chilli peppers and Szechuan peppercorns)

Definitely not your typical Americanized Chinese restaurant, and that is a compliment coming from me. Glad we decided to check this place out for our one night in Connecticut.
