We started out this sunny day at the
South Shore Mall in Braintree,
getting an Iced Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato from the Starbuck's located in the Target store there, which was not bad actually.
From here, we headed out to the South Shore to begin our search for a beach to lounge at, starting off with
Black Rock Beach in Cohasset, which has black sand,
and one can see the Black Rocks islands,
the
Boston Light
and
Minot's Ledge Light.
We then visited Pleasant Beach at Atlantic Avenue and Jerusalem Road, which is apparently off limits to the public.
Sandy Beach had a lot more people,
but as we were afraid of being fined for not having a town permit, we did not stay long, moving along to Scituate, where permits were also needed at
North Scituate Beach.
I somehow missed Minot's Beach, hidden behind seawalls, as I made my way to Strawberry Point,
where the best views of Minot's Ledge Light can be found,
the entire area of which is actually private property, but I chose to venture in anyway.
After taking my pictures, we hurried back out to public land, heading to Egypt Beach, where we found a large, somewhat empty parking lot at 312 Hatherly Road. Even though this area still requires permits, we decided to chance it anyway and set up our rest area on the beach for the day.
While here, I walked around to check out ponds in the area.

At this point, we decided that we had had enough sun for the day, and headed to dinner at
Main Street Grille, a bar restaurant in the town of Weymouth, getting a lot of food with our coupon, namely the Fish Tacos (fried haddock, topped with cheddar cheese, coleslaw, scallions, lemon sour cream and pico de gallo. Served on 3 soft tortillas),
which came with Sweet Potato Fries,
the Chicken Fion (Penne, sauteed chicken, garlic, white wine, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes),
the BBQ Chicken Pizza (grilled chicken BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese and caramelized onions),
and the Main Street Clam Chowder.
Except for the soup, which was a tad too salty, everything else was pretty good, being flavorful, especially the pizza. Not sure I would come back for the ambience though.
On the way back, we decided to grab more pizza to go from
Zorba's of Randolph, a pizza takeout place in Randolph, getting the Santorini (Sliced tomatoes, parsley, fresh garlic) Pizza,
which was pretty good, mainly because of the garlic.
With that, an end to a day at the beaches.
