We had dinner tonight at Dianna's Neighborhood Bistro, a new place that has taken over from Le Mirage, which I visited a long time ago.
Apparently it is Restaurant Week, so my other half went for it, getting the Santa Fe Salad (organic mix greens and baby arugula, black beans, banana peppers, avocado, roasted poblano peppers, kernel corn, Colby Jack Cheese, tortilla crisps, fresh cilantro and jalapeno dressing),
the Scallops Wrapped with Pecan Bacon (fresh dry sea scallops wrapped in pecan bacon, drizzled with Vermont maple syrup balsamic reduction),
and the Haddock Fiona (New England baked haddock served over sauteed sliced Yukon gold potatoes, shallots, spinach, cremini mushrooms, white wine, cream and parmesan reggiano cheese),
while I got the Spicy Calamari Saute (native wild calamari soaked in a Louisiana buttermilk marinade, dusted with seasoned cornmeal, and sauteed with roasted poblano, jalapeno and sliced bell peppers with garbanzo beans organic mixed greens xvoo garlic, fresh basil and white wine).
The calamari was pretty good, although it would have been better if the cornmeal was crispier as well. The scallops were just so-so, and although I did not take to the salad initially, it grew on me eventually. The fish was fresh and delicious as well. Overall, a pretty good meal and a better replacement for Le Mirage.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
