April 20th 2015: Meals in Saugus on Patriots' Day

I spent my entire Patriot's Day holiday with my friend in the town of Saugus, going for lunch at Hooters, the first time for both of us.

I wasn't really impressed with the sexily dressed waitresses though, and even less with the menu. Still, we got a New England Style Clam Chowder
and the Buffalo Platter (6 buffalo shrimp, 6 boneless wings, 6 bone-in wings, tossed in Honey BBQ (sweet and smoky), Parmesan Garlic (roasted kick with parmesan punch), Lemon Pepper Rub (citrus zest with dash of spice) and served with a side of dressing).
The soup wasn't too bad, although it tasted like it came out of a can. The Honey BBQ sauce was pretty spicy, while the lemon rub was way too salty. The Parmesan Garlic sauce was not bad, but I think Buffalo Wild Wings is still better. Overall, not coming back again.

Dinner later was at Shoyu Restaurant,a pretty nice but small restaurant serving Japanese and Chinese cuisine,

with nothing really interesting on the menu. On the Japanese side, we got the Castle Maki (lobster with cucumber, avocado, jalapeno topped with scallop cheese and tobiko), which was just so-so,
while on the Chinese side, we got the Grand Marnier Walnut Shrimp (lightly battered jumbo shrimp finished with mayonnaise, orange juice, Grand Marnier), which was crunchy and tasty.
After dinner, we headed next door to Orange Leaf, where my friend got some yogurt to end the night. Not a fan of pistachio flavored yogurt though.

Regardless, we still enjoyed our time together on this rainy day.
