November 4th 2015: Revisiting Restaurants in Shrewsbury

Today after work, I went to Cafe Noir, a pretty nice cafe in Shrewsbury, for a bit,
before heading to Bauhinia, a nice Chinese restaurant nearby that I visited a very long time ago.
Unfortunately, the disappointing experience I had a long time ago at the buffet repeated today with the Half Peking Duck we got.
Though crispy, it was just a regular roast duck and definitely not worth the money we paid for it. It was not filling either.

Dissatisfied with our meal, we headed to Amici Trattoria nearby, another restaurant in town that I visited once, a long, long time ago.

This time, we got the Skillet Seared Sea Scallops (Balsamic seasoned field greens & caramelized sea scallops with a cranberry reduction),

and the Gamberi e Langosta Alfredo d'Amici (jumbo shrimp, lobster meat, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus tips, scallions and fettucine in a parmesan cream sauce).
There were too few scallops on the plate, but the salad tasted really good with the cranberry sauce. The pasta was really good as well because of the sundried tomatoes.

We were tempted to try the dessert as well, getting the Pumpkin and White Chocolate Bread Pudding (with caramelized walnuts and caramel sauce).
A little disappointing, in my opinion, being a little on the bland side. Overall, a pretty good meal though.
