March 31st 2016: Breakfast at Blackstone's Country Cafe, Sutton

I got breakfast at Blackstone's Country Cafe, a nice cafe that is somewhat troublesome to get to in Sutton.
I got the Meat Signature Burrito (Sweet Sausage, Bacon, Virginia Ham, 3 hand cracked eggs, wheat tortilla).
Filling, but nothing special.

March 30th 2016: Checking Out Places in Millbury

After work today, we headed into Millbury today to check out Scales Seafood and Ice Cream, a casual seafood place with weighing scales lining the walls.
We got the Lobster Salad Roll and the Garlic Knots.
Nothing special though.

We then headed nearby to Christopher's Ice Cream, getting the Peanut Butter Cup flavor this time.

Pretty creamy and good as always.

Still not having our fill, we decided to get more food at Red Robin, a chain burger restaurant nearby.

Here, we got the Burnin' Love (topped with fried jalapeño coins, salsa, Pepper-Jack, lettuce, tomatoes and chipotle aioli on a jalapeño-cornmeal kaiser roll) burger.
and the Root Beer Float Cake (Fluffy frosted white cake with a sweet layer of root beer cream inside,  drizzled in chocolate and topped with a cherry!).
I have to say, the burger was actually pretty delicious, partly due to the bread itself. The root beer flavor in the cake was interestingly good as well. I might actually come back here to try their other burgers another time.

March 29th 2016: Breakfast at June Street Grille, Worcester

I decided to get breakfast today at the June Street Grille, a decent looking diner in Worcester,

getting the Doherty High Omelette (buffalo chicken and blue cheese).
Not bad actually, though overall, nothing special on the menu.

After watching the movie "Batman vs Superman" at the Blackstone Valley 14 Cinema de Lux, which was a pretty bad movie in my opinion, we went to get some late night froyo from Yogurt City nearby.

Not bad end to a pretty bad movie.

March 27th 2016: Passing Through Burlington and Framingham

While at H-Mart in Burlington today, we decided to get a Seven Grain Smoothie from Tous Les Jours,
which was actually pretty good with its smoky flavor.

On the way home, we stopped by Framingham for a meal at Lotus Flower, a nice Chinese restaurant in town which apparently is affiliated with Lotus Blossom in Sudbury, which I visited a long time ago.
This place has lunch and dinner buffets, but we just happened to come in between that time, so we had to order off a short menu. We weren't that hungry, so we just got the Soup Dumplings
and the Beef Tendon in Hot Chili Sauce.
Pretty tasty actually. Another Chinese place to recommend in Framingham.

March 26th 2016: Chinese Food and Dessert All Day

We started out today checking out a new Chinese restaurant at 19 Pleasant Street in Malden, Ming's Seafood, which serves dimsum in the day time in a nice place fit for a wedding.

We got the usual dimsum dishes, which were not bad,
especially the Egg Tarts, which were extremely light, buttery and flaky, although I usually don't like the flaky kind of egg tarts. A dimsum place I would definitely come back to, partly because it has a nicer ambience than most other dimsum places I have been to here.

After brunch, we headed to Monkey King Tea nearby to try out their new dessert, the I Luv You so Matcha Puffle Cone (green tea ice cream, fresh strawberries, egg puffs, red bean mochi, chocolate drizzle,  chocolate pocky).
A pretty good creation, and while here, we also discovered the fun game Blokus.

Later on in the day, we were back in Quincy to try another dessert at Yocha, the Coco for Mango (coconut soup, mango slices with mango ice cream, tapioca, herbal jelly, coconut jelly).
After dessert, we headed nearby to a small hole in the wall place, Saigon Corner, Despite its name, this place specializes more in Hong Kong street food and noodles, of which we got the Curry Fishballs
and the Wonton and Dumpling Noodle Soup.
The fishballs were just alright, but the dumplings and the soup were absolutely delicious, the dumplings being full of ingredients and not flour.

Overall, a pretty good dining experience here. A rare definite recommend from me for a hole in the wall place.

March 25th 2016: Italian dinner at Massimino's, Boston

Dinner tonight was at Massimino's Cucina Italiana, a small Italian restaurant in the North End area of Boston.

We got the Linguini with Calamari (with spicy red wine sauce)

And the Virginia (Veal stuffed with smoked mozzarella and prociutto in pink sauce with artichokes).
Both were nothing special though.

For dessert, we got the Profiteroles Glass (cream puffs surrounded by vanilla and chocolate cream).
The cream and chocolate were actually not too bad in this one, although it could have done without the puffs.

Overall, I have had better Italian food in the area. Thank goodness I was using a Groupon here.

March 23rd 2016: Post Movie Ice Cream at Cold Stone Creamery, Millbury

After watching the fantastic animated movie "Zootopia" at the Blackstone Valley 14 Cinema De Lux, we decided to stop at the Cold Stone Creamery nearby for some dessert, getting the Peanut Butter Yogurt flavor.
Not bad, although the yogurt part tasted a little weird at times.

March 22nd 2016: JMP Day in Boston

I attended a JMP conference at the Villa Victoria Center for Performing Arts in the South End area of Boston today.

During the breaks, I took the opportunity to venture out in the area for a bit,  getting a beef Alcapurria from Mana Escondido Cafe

And having lunch at Shun's Kitchen, a nice Chinese restaurant in the area.

Here, I got the Cold Marinated Spicy Pig Kidney,

the Crispy Duck Ramen

And the Duck Tataki (thinly sliced duck breast, Ponzu sauce).
The intestines and duck tataki were pretty good with the Szechuan style sauces, but the best dish in my opinion was actually the ramen, the soup not being too salty for once, and the duck being really crispy. Really glad that Cafe Madeleine across the street was closed today for reconstruction, otherwise I would have missed out on this place.

After the conference, I went to check out a Vietnamese seafood place in the Dorchester area, Tri Seafood Restaurant, a small place with a big parking area at 1616 Dorchester Avenue.
We got the Crawfish
and the Satay Shrimp.
Not very fresh in my opinion, and too expensive. Not coming back again.

Our final stop for the day was at Yocha in Quincy, where we got a Japanese Cheesecake
and the Red Raider, which I have had before.
The cheesecake was nothing special in my opinion, although the other dessert was good as always.

March 20th 2016: Staying Close to Home

We stayed close to home today, with me going out to get takeout, firstly from Principe Restaurant, a Latin American restaurant in Worcester, where I got the Mondongo (Beef Tripe Stew).
Not bad, though a little sour.

I also got the Pho Tai Bo Vien (Pho with Beef slices and beef balls) from Pho Bowl, which I have been to in the past. Not bad too.

For dinner, we headed into Westborough for Korean food at Sapporo Korean BBQ and Sushi. I have been here several times before, but I actually never took pictures of the food there.

This time, we got the Korean Tacos  (Two soft tacos filled with barbecued rib eye beef or spicy pork. Topped with cabbage slaw, sour cream and Korean chili aoili),
the Duk Bokki (Soft rice cake, fish cake and scallions in spicy Korean chili paste)
and the Omelet Rice (Beef fried rice covered with a thin layer or scrambled egg).
The tacos were delicious, although I preferred the sweet beef compared to the spiciness of the pork. The rice cakes were cooked just right as well, although I did not take to the onions in the rice.

Overall, yet another delicious meal at this place.

For dessert, we went to Uhlman's Ice Cream nearby, getting the Orange Pineapple Ice Cream.
A little too sweet, but still quite alright.

March 19th 2016: A Day of Tea and Wine

We started off today with Afternoon Tea (half pot of tea, 2 scones, tea sandwiches and small sweeties, served with butter, jam and Devonshire cream) at Special Teas in Northborough.

We already knew there would be a wait for our food from our previous experience,  but we were here to enjoy the afternoon together anyway.

The House Chai Tea (black tea brewed with milk, sugar, vanilla and cardamom) was creamy and not too cinnamony,

Much to my delight.

The food came presented really prettily.

The tomato and cucumber sandwiches were excellent with Pesto flavor, as we're the jam and Cream. The Currant and Apple and Grapenut Scones were not bad too, although the currant one was better.

Next we went to the Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton for a bit.

where my other half went on a brewery tour which I did a long time ago.
The place has not changed much, and my other half enjoyed her tour and wine tastings as I did before.

After leaving the winery, we headed to Clinton for a meal at Thai Time, a small restaurant in the downtown area.
We got the Chicken Satay (Charcoal-grilled chicken tenders on skewers, marinated with Thai spices; served with peanut sauce and cucumber sauce)
and the Mango Curry (Chicken & shrimp with mango chunks in a yellow curry with coconut milk, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and bell peppers).
Nothing special, and the curry was a little bland, though it was a bit spicy. Definitely not coming back again.
