I started out this morning in Marlborough, grabbing an Egg Souffle (egg, bacon and cheddar cheese)
from Brew Coffee Bean, a cafe which is affiliated with Brew on the Grid and Brew Beer Garden in Worcester.
Pretty good actually for what it is.
My department had another farewell lunch for some contractors, and it was at Via Italian Table as always. This time, we got the TRUFFLE FRITES WITH PARMIGIANO,
the Fried Calamari with Marinara,
the CRISPY PORK MEATBALLS (WITH SWEET AND SOUR GLAZE),
while I got myself the SMOKY PORK CARBONARA (SMOKED PORK SHOULDER IS SHREDDED AND TOSSED IN A CLASSIC ROMAN STYLE CARBONARA SAUCE WITH ENGLISH GREEN PEAS, FRESNO CHILIES, LINGUINE AND GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE)
and the LIMONCELLO CAKE (WHIPPED MASCARPONE FROSTING, WHITE CHOCOLATE SHAVINGS AND A LIMONCELLO REDUCTION) for dessert.
The meatballs were a delight to savor, although I only got half of one, while the sauce for the mussels went really well with the toast that came with it. My pasta was the right combination of textures and flavors, even with the spiciness of the chilies, and the cake was on the verge of being too sweet, but thankfully not so. Yet another good meal here.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
