After taking a dip at the YMCA in Peabody today, we decided to head to the Northshore Mall,
where we decided to try out a few new restaurants that have popped up since the last time we were here.
We started off with Big Fin Poke, a poke store with locations in Maine. We got a sample of the Hawaiian Original (Ahi Tuna mixed with Hawaiian sea salt sesame oil, chili flakes, and BF Shoyu sauce, sweet onion, green onion, hijiki seaweed topped with seaweed salad, crab salad, pineapple, cucumber, avocado with fried onion, sesame seeds and chili flakes. (Furikake on rice)), which was pretty good,
and we got the Hawaiian Sun Green Tea
and the Gyudon Beef (Thinly sliced beef cooked with onions in a sake shoyu sauce topped with kimchi, ginger, corn, sweet onion, green onion with fried onion and sesame seeds).
The drink tastes just like the Arizona brand, while the beef was just alright at first, then started growing on me. Not bad overall, but a little expensive.
Next, we decided to check out Mad Dragon nearby, which serves something pretty unique: corn cereal treated with liquid nitrogen.
The cool (pun intended) thing about this is, when one crunches into it, one starts to breath icy air like an ice dragon.
Other than that, the cereal tasted rather bland. Definitely not spending 7 bucks on that again.
Finally, we stopped by Buckets of Nuts, getting the Coffee Glazed Pecans,
while also trying samples of the Cinnamon Glazed Cashews and Pecans and the Smoked Mixed Nuts.
Of the nuts, only the smoked nuts tasted just average, while the others were pretty good, even the cinnamon ones. A little expensive though.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
