April 10th 2021: Checking Out the Fayville Dam in Southborough

For lunch today, we decided to have it at the Red Heat Tavern in Westborough. I have been here before in the past, and had a really good experience here.

This time, we got the Southern Fried Chicken (buttermilk fried chicken, thyme, rosemary, white bacon gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans),

and the Quesadilla (wirh Pudding Cup, Apple Juice, French Fries, Apple Slices, BBQ Sauce) for my little one.
The chicken was pretty good, although there was only cheese in the quesadilla. The kid's meal was actually pretty good, with a choice of three sides, a drink and a sauce, and hence much more worth it than the actual dishes.

From here, we decided to go to Southborough to check out a new stretch of the Bay Circuit Trail, where the path we took to try to find the Fayville Dam is shown below in pink.

it looked like we needed to head behind private property, but it was part of the new trail, so there was an opening we could go through to get views of the dam.

We then headed back to the other side of the trail,  where the views of the Sudbury Reservoir were few and far between.

Nice hike though.

From here, we headed to Natick for dinner at Sol de Mexico, a Mexican restaurant which is more like a takeout place.
We got the Pina Colada Smoothie
and the Fried Shrimp Chimichangas (Two deep-fried flour tortillas filled with shrimp topped with cheese dip. Served with rice and guacamole salad).
The smoothie was really refreshing with the taste of coconut followed by tangy pineapple flavors, while the chimichangas, though a little soft, had fresh shrimp and went well with the cheese sauce, guacamole, tomatoes and sour cream, all of which were really fresh. Have to say, a really good meal from a takeout place, although I might not take my friends here due to the ambience.
