April 7th 2021: Searching for Echo Lake in Hopkinton

While at work today, I decided to get some lunch from Al Sazon De Mi Tierra, a Latin American restaurant in Worcester that has taken over from La Terrazza Parilla Mexicana, which I visited almost 5 years ago. Decor still looks crappy though.

I got the Sazon Plate (Grilled Steak, grilled chicken, shrimp, chimole, scallion, mix of rice, beans and tortillas), which was just so-so, the meat being dry as always.

After work, we decided to go on a hike in Hopkinton at the relatively new Echo Trail,

where the path we took to find Echo Lake, the headwaters of the Charles River, is shown below in pink.

really nice and serene views of the lake on the seemingly private path we used.

From here, we headed to dinner at Restaurant 45 Bar and Grille, an Italian restaurant in the town of Medway.

Fire Department

Pretty nice inside,

although we decided to sit outside.

We got the Sandy Beach (Pearl Coconut and Skyy Pineapple Vodka with Pina Colada Mix and a splash of pineapple juice served straight up and garnished with toasted coconut),
the Linguine Carbonara (sauteed chicken fillets, bacon, mushrooms, and peas in a classic alfredo sauce tossed in linguine),

the Lobster and Corn Chowder
and the Yve's Cinnamon Roll Cake (a cross between warm vanilla pound cake and fresh-baked cinnamon rolls topped vanilla ice cream) for dessert.

The drink was a little too alcoholic for me, although the soup and pasta were pretty tasty, and the cake had just the right amount of cinnamon to not get to me. Overall, a really good meal to end a nice hike.
