Today, we decided to get dinner at UxLocale, a somewhat new but popular Italian restaurant in the town of Uxbridge. The inside is much like a barn farm store, pretty small, so we decided to sit outside instead.
We got the Luppolo (Oxbow Brewing, unfiltered dry-hopped pilsner brewed with European malts and hops),
the Oyster Mushroom Ragu Parpadelle (brow butter rosemary sauteed oyster mushrooms from Riddle Brook Farm in Douglas, MA, tossed in with parpadelle, fresh rosemary, toasted pinenuts, a hint of balsamic in a rich and earthy broth topped with a bit of American grana parmesan cheese)
and the Creme Brulee (a decadent custard made from farm eggs and Madagascar vanilla topped with a later of harden caramelized sugar) for dessert. The beer was way too hoppy for my liking, and the pasta was a little tough, the sauce a tad sweet, but overall still not bad, while the dessert was softer than most creme brulee I have had. Overall not bad, although I think we should have gotten a pizza instead.
