Today, we decided to go check out the North Uxbridge Fire Museum in Uxbridge.

Small place, but at least we got the most out of a rainy day, including a misguided order of Bubblegum ice cream from Pirate's Cove in Northbridge.

May 17th 2026: Uxbridge Historical Society, Uxbridge

Today, the Uxbridge Historical Society in Uxbridge had an open house, so we decided to go check it out.

Apparently there is also a fire museum in town, will come check it out next time.

From here, we went to get a quick bite from the second Cluck and Crispy Chicken in Worcester,
this time getting the Tempura Shrimp
and the Bacon Fried Chicken Burger.

Pretty good, being made from scratch, but the wait was too long making the little one late for class. Oh well.

September 21st 2025: Finding New Places in Grafton and Uxbridge

 Today, we passed through Grafton

Stephen H. Roney Memorial Park,
North Main Street and Bridge Street
to get to Uxbridge, where unfortunately Lee Reservoir and the Peabody Pond area are all on private property. Thankfully, we still found new places to see.
Uxbridge High School

Charles Smith Memorial Park,
121 East Hartford Avenue
Not a wasted trip after all.

September 14th 2025: North America's Largest Collection of Fresco Paintings in Woonsocket RI

Today, we passed through Northbridge and

Ellis Pond, 869 Quaker Street
Uxbridge,
West River Pond,
28 West River Road

Wheelock Memorial Park,
261 Mendon Street

Ironstone Reservoir,
1 Elmwood Avenue
before going on a short hike at Centennial Park in North Smithfield RI, where the rough path we took is shown below in pink.

Nice views of the further dam,
and a side view of the second dam.

The path to the stone arch bridge was a little overgrown though, just a little.
and the dam here was dry, unfortunately.

From here, it was on to our main target for today in Woonsocket RI,
Harris Elementary School

the St Ann Arts and Cultural Center. We had some difficulty getting cash from an ATM nearby, but I am glad the volunteers stayed way past time to give us a really good tour of the beautiful place.

I'm glad I was finally able to visit North America's largest collection of fresco paintings after all this time. Interesting that fresco painting can only be done while the plaster is still wet, and errors cannot be easily reversed.

August 2nd 2025: Water Bodies in Northbridge, Douglas and Uxbridge

 Today, we passed through Grafton,

Early Learning Center

Northbridge,

Meadow Pond,
306 Douglas Road

Uxbridge

Chocolog Pond,
611 Chocolog Road

Blissful Meadows Golf Club
and finally Douglas,

Fire Department

Hunt Pond, 5 College Street

Weeks Pond, 60 Depot Street
going on a short hike to find Chase Pond, where the path we took from the left of the South Douglas Cemetery at ~286 South Street is shown below in pink.
The view from south of the pond from the main trail was nothing to speak of,
but thankfully there was a side trail leading to the west side of the pond.
Our last stop of the day was at the Ice Cream Lady at 63 Main Street in town,
getting a cup of Chocolate Peanut Butter.
A good way to end a day of water bodies in several towns.
